I was in the newest Bonus Ball thread kicking much science when I happened to see my post count at 6999. I'm not one for forum post milestones usually but for some reason I thought "I want to do something cool for 7000." Then it hit me instantly.

So I decided to go back through my photos and pick out some shots of my friend and TAR co-founder Chad "Big Nasty" Pollman who passed away this year. I dont think any of these have ever been seen before.

Here we go. RIP Big Man.

Nasty and The Pearl after a young SVB shot his nuts all the way in at TAR 3. 2007

At Shooters in Olathe with SVB, Mike "Meatball"Banks, Justin Bergman and Scooter. Nasty lived on that phone that looked like a tic tac in his paws. 2008

Side Pockets in KC with Jason Froehling in the middle. All that shit on the ground are tiles from the roof. They were knocked off when a tornado hit the plaza we were in for a match. Wild night.

Nasty right where he loved to be....in the middle of the action. With John Schmidt, Cliff Joyner, and The Smooth Criminal. Cliff offered to hold the post but Nasty went ahead and did it.

I have met few people who loved pool and the people who play it as much as Chad did. I met him through this forum along with many others who are close friends now. Seeing that post count at 6999 made me think of all the good things I have gotten from this place. Thanks to everyone who makes it what it is.

Great post and timing! Nasty's memorial tournament is this coming weekend in Sioux Falls, SD. There will be a fundraiser for Chad's daughter to go to college. If anyone is interested in donating just send me a pm and I can take it down there when I go.

Stronger than a garlic milk shake!

Great post...

One hell of a Tribute post Justin! Nasty was a heck of a man. I really enjoyed the times I spend around him. He was a straight up dude.

Chad is one of the first people I met when I picked up the game. Such a different out look on life. I didn't know the big man well, but he talked to me, and every one else like he was your best friend, even if he'd never met you. Chad was a good guy, I cant wait to play his tourny this weekend!!!!

best,

Justin

Thanks Justin. A great thread, and brought some fond memories back for me. What a wonderful person, and I am very happy I was able to have been a friend to Nasty.

Dude had a great way with nicknames and sayings...

Like calling Bartram "Lunch Box", cause if you're going to play him you need to pack a lunch... LOL

Justin may remember the exact quote, it was at the derby IIRC, but Nasty said something to the effect of "If they're from Ohio and wear a white t-shirt they can play.... Ohio is like the Philipines of the U.S.". I spit pop all over my screen when he said that one....

He came with a whole new style of color commentary....

Being fat, I always appreciated the food reports he gave. Plus, other insightful thoughts like cooking grilled cheese on a George Foreman grill. Pure genius right there.....
