Pre Flag Master Chalk

Everything I've read says Tweeten is still using the same formula. I call BS, urban legend.

If's there is no "Pre Flag Master" available. Kamui will do.

It's the same sort of fixation.

If the folks at Tweeten had any brains, they'd 'fess up and admit the pre-flag Masters chalk WAS a different formula. Then, they could go back to making it the "old way" ;) and sell it for what it sells for on here and make profits that would rival/beat Kamui's chalk.

you can still have the same
ingredients but make it differently. What I have noticed is that most
chalk in poolrooms are not stored properly and dry out. With Masters
I really can't tell the difference when it comes to playability or how
the chalk goes on my tip, feels the same to me.The biggest difference
I can see is the packaging and the dye they use is a little lighter in
color on the chalk itself.

I heard there is something in pre-flag...that they are not allowed to use anymore. I have 72 peices unused still in the box.:D

Yes, might be lead.

Would $5 for each piece be a good price?

Pre-Flag Master's Chalk cures cancer, rescues kittens in trees, and adds 3-5 inches.

Who's sale pitch is that. THIS GUYS?

this one comes up a lot, and eventually a tweeten guy said outright it wasn't a change in formula, just a change in packaging. I can't swear by this but I think he said it was due to 9/11... which completely makes sense, you starting seeing flags on everything after 9/11.

I stumbled across a cube and played with it, it was just chalk.

Always apply this simple straight-face test when people talk about how some magical piece of equipment helps their game:

Your opponent just missed a ball or dogged his position.
He says to you: "That wouldn't have happened if I'd hit that ball with preflag master instead of regular master."
Do you accept this as a valid excuse? Or laugh in his face?

My Pre Flag is lighter in color and finer than Master provided at pool halls.

Also, my supply is slowly disappearing and my pasta sauce is now blue.
Hmmm, gonna have to ask my wife about this one.

They don't call me Little Pad Lock for nothin ya know.

I have approx. 30 pieces of pre flag blue in original one gross box.
Never occurred to me to sell them. Hell, about 2 years ago I gave over 50 pieces to the local pool room when they ran out. DUH! :frown:

Neither as I don't think the lead or lack of it contributes to whether you miss cue or not. What I do believe is that the pre flag spins the cue ball more. Not a lot but even if it is a half diamond across the table than it is worth it to me. As for being worried about the cancer causing attributes of lead...wash your hands and don't lick your fingers.
So while the formula may be the same... the ingredients are not since it is clearly stated that the lead is gone from the dye. Did the lead add a bit of friction?? Was taking the lead out the only thing done to the dye or was another ingredient added with different frictional properties??

Masters Pre Flag. Does anyone think that a manufacturer (Tweeten) would admit that their product had hazardous components in it and open themselves up to lawsuits???
