Predator Revo shaft full review and deflection test

I'm honestly not a big fan of his review on shafts...
I just don't think a firm stroke today is the same as a firm stroke 2 years ago, the comparison isn't that accurate IMO
But I guess that's all we got unless we can get a robot

Yeah I had a little back-and-forth with him on one of his YouTube videos in the comments. He always says that squirt is larger with higher speed, and I linked him to some of Dr. Dave's tests showing that speed doesn't increase squirt, and instead it's just curving back more with slower speed. He didn't want to hear anything about it.

Oh well, it's better than nothing, and definitely better than other cue reviews. In fact his channel is the only one I'm aware of that actually has squirt tests for a variety of cues. Kudos to him for that.

True. And it's still ugly to me.
And it sure is nowhere near as pretty as when 314 was made in Norh America.

It was designed in North America if that helps at all, but after it's conception I'm sure everything switched to overseas.

I imagine se will see more graphite technology from the big companies in the years to come. It might not be any better than a maple shaft, but it looks different and carbon fibre/graphite peaks peoples interest and it's great for marketing.
It's no surprise that Predator is early starter in this game, they are the best brand in pool when itcomes to marketing, Kamui might be a close second.

Balicini had those more than a decade ago.

That is what many do not understand about speed of shot when trying to use say BHE or any english or when trying to use the squirt say for TOI.

I have a modified Predator 314 CAT shaft that would cross the line in those soft & probably medium hits that he did...

& his firm hit is not that firm where I come from.

And how does he know what the shaft will feel like in years if they are new shafts?
Right! I love Brandon's reviews, but this was a commercial for Predator. I also wondered how he could say what it will feel like in months or years!

This shaft is only available with the purchase of a cue -- yes for $3500.00 !!

The Cues, there are 3 or 4 of them, are ugly as all hell - at least to my eyes...

At the expo there only available with the cue. The will be available to buy just the shaft soon. I don't know if I could play with a black shaft lol

3500.00 for carbon fiber cue , That's insane .

Some is smoking some good $hit

My dogs say they will take a dozen as long as they are beef flavored.

It sounds like aluminum when he hit the ball, and he was shooting
so freakin soft, his test has no validity.

350 dollars doesn't sound so bad :)

Oh wait..........that was 3500 dollars..........

Nevermind.

Not sure why Predator would step on there own feet. To bring a New shaft
to the market right after coming out with the 3 series is just a blunder in
my eyes. Give it time then come out with it.

The shaft only comes with the 20th Anniversary cues, which are already 3295.00 MSRP without the Revo shaft.

I think the reason predator is making this move is because LD is going the way of the solid shaft. At least for me and what I have observed it is. Mezz and Meucci have gained a lot of traction with their solid LD shafts. Samasara just released theirs and it hits well too. Predator can't very well turn around and say "Hey we said laminated shafts offer these advantages, but here is our new and more expensive solid maple shaft blahblahblah." However, they can come out with a solid carbon fiber shaft without hurting their own market.

Will I buy one? Not unless I hit with it for a while first. The biggest advantage these shafts have is that they will retain value a lot more than a maple shaft would.

earl won how many tournaments and wc's and us opens with a cuetek??? dont see everyone using those still......even back then.....bet money its not as goodas wood........humans thinking they gonna make a better product than wood lol....thats hilarious.

when theres a quantum computer controlling the carbon nano bots in the shaft....then we can talk about it being as good or better than wood.......

carbon has a lack of connection under wood.....so cant touch it....wont make as good of a musical instrument either.....oops cues are percussion instruments...

bummer for the humans,

I think you are quite right, it might be about superior performance, but it's a PR stunt, witnessed by the fact that it's only available on the LE cues.
It's going to be interesting to see how these shafts stands up to the abuse of the regular player. How resistant is it to dings etc

My friend hit the side of the table several times with his shaft. Not a mark on it. As I said, I didn't like the look, but it felt good. It's not something I'm interested in buying, I play with a Frey sneaky and an SS360/2 shaft. That combination works for me. I didn't notice the sound, I was so focused on how the shaft felt and the amount of deflection. One of my Pechauers had a distinctive "tink" that I really didn't care for. Changing the tip cured that.

Nice demo vid.

What is the weight of the front end - how low?
One can see the bending of the shaft away from the CB - He said that contributes to the LD.

Be well.
