Prized South West, Franklin, 6 High Points

This cue belonged to Brad Simpson and was on the cover of the first edition of the Blue Book of Pool Cues.

Two original shafts with micarta ferrules. Another SW shaft made more recently.

SW joint protectors added by Brad.

Very rare no-wrap with 6 high points. Incredibly beautiful woods, tulipwood, BE maple, macassar ebony... and the best hitting cue I've ever stroked with.

Recently refinished by SW. LOA's from Brad and Laurie.

i love the classic 6 point Southwest and would do all to get a nice piece in my collection.

I"ll never forget the first time that Brad pulled that out of his case. I had just joined pool league for the first time.. 10 years ago, and Brad was on the team. When he pulled that cue out my jaw just dropped to my chest and stayed there. I was in total awe!! I'd never seen anything that beautiful.

I still think it's one of the three most beautiful cues I"ve ever seen. Great woods and great choices in matching up the colors.
 
Beautiful cue. I absolutely love the old yellow micarta ferrules.

I'd love to hit some balls with this baby. :D :D

Great looking cue. I love SW's, however, most tend to look the same, this one's very unique.

Great looking cue, but it is a shame that they did not put deco rings above and below the Birdseye handle.

That is one of the most unique South West cues I have ever seen. That is truly a beautiful cue. You are very fortunate to own that one. Best of luck.

Beautiful cues. Are you bringing any of them up to Chicago at the end of the month?

I'll bring some of mine over and you can hit with them. Kers, SW, Ed Young, Peterson, Sailors,Black and some of the newer ones, Brick/Davis, Gracio/Davis, Corsair/Davis. If you are up for a couple of days, maybe you can check out the Illinois Billiard Club. I'll try to remember to call Lavin about the hotel today.
 
The Sailor/Spain is my play cue so I'll definitely have it. I think everybody should hit the Sugartree I have. Any particular other's you'd like to see? I'm assuming you'd like to see the wrapless 6 hi point and the 9 point ebony... others? I guess that's about all I could carry around. I don't want to leave them anywhere!

First and foremost,... I'd love to hit the Kers!.... I"ve not seen or hit with one before.

I had planned on coming with my buddy but he can't come with me now... AND family issues are conspiring to make me consider this being a one day trip... but we'll see. I would love to see the IBC.

I'd appreciate any room info you can get. I don't know the neighborhood and am wary

Jim: I probably would like to hit any that hit good. I already had an Ed Young so I think I am cool there. Any SW that hits good. I'll bring a bunch of mine.

John says this joint is good. It's about 5 minutes from the pool hall and right off the interstate

Have you ever hit a Chuck Starkey wood pin cue? I have a couple of them too.
 
Bumpin it up so others can enjoy. I love looking a this cue. I love playing with it too but I can't bring myself to take it out of the house very often. It's too unique, too valuable, too much a piece of history to take it to bars to play 8 ball with people who can't appreciate it.
 
Jim: There are a lot of SW people at Red Shoes. Both Lavin and Zaksis use Southwests.

At IBC, three of us are using Predates right now.
