What do you think are the chances that any of these 3 make it through? They have to finish in the top 4 in 1 of 2 tournaments to qualify. (8 players qualify). I don't believe Deuel has any chance. Melling may have a shot as he has played a lot of snooker, but I think Pagulayan has the best chance. I wouldn't be surprised if he made it. I think Alex is a great safety player and will use that to lay down some mean snookers!

Given how high the standards are in professional snooker, my guess is that none of them will be able to qualify.

I really don't know. My guess would be that Melling has the best chance of the three but Alex may surprise a few players along the way. Although I'm sure being a Canadian Snooker Champ doesn't carry quite the same prestige as it once did.

It would be interesting to see Melling vs. Pagulayan on the snooker table. That I would like to see.

Deuel has zero chance.

Hmmm " Hobsons choice" I don't believe they can make it.

Good experience for the American players, the question is will they see a light at the end
of the tunnel after their matches or will it be a bridge too far?

Deuel - close to zero chance.

Melling - half a chance if it runs well for him and his game is together

Pagulayan - I have no idea. Hard to gauge where he is at with snooker right now. If it is all coming together, he has a chance. I would love to see him qualify, even if it's with a good wind.

They will all learn from this. Deuel will learn the most.

It will be a tough row to hoe for all three of them. They must have a great tactical game if they want to get very far. It is part of the game that is sometimes over looked. If they play a good tactical game, and score heavily when they get the chance, then they could do well. If they don't do this, they are in trouble.

Corey has got a tough draw playing Daniel wells..

Thanks Lee, I looked him up and he has had a snooker ranking of 70. Looks like he has had lots of training and experience. Maybe Deuel will have an easier draw in round 2!

Can one compare the best Canadian Snooker players to the level of play here in the qualifier rounds?

I find it funny to hear anyone ever second guess the abilities of Alex, and Corey in ANY cue sport. Don't forget those 2 spent a ton of time on the road and I don't think Alex would let Corey waste his time unwarranted. Alex can flat out play snooker, and Corey has found a new way to win at every level from juniors on up.

My guess is Corey found a snooker table and spent some time learning what he needs to do to compete.

I don't know Chris well, but do applaud all of these guys for trying to qualify.

I remember some of the same comments when some dude named Cesar showed up with an odd style......nah...he can't play with that pump handle stroke!.......right?

You can "watch" Corey's match when it starts at 1400 EST (1900 GMT)

http://livescores.worldsnookerdata.com/LiveMatchDetail/Match/13609?matchNumber=49

There is no picture provided but you can see the player's points incrementing plus other information to help you follow the play. The accompanying pages give you info on the draw, start times and everything you might want to know.

Can you imagine listening to pool on the radio. It is a bit like that. You may also like this link
