Quite possibly the most undeserved win in a final in the history of pool

I understand that rolls are part of the game, but this was absolutely sickening. Shane really deserved to win.

Shane must work on a lot of things in his game to become a "great" player. But a lot of Americans need a new "hero" !!!!!!! That's why SVB is overrated. He still makes a lot of errors during his matches. Of course, there are some matches where he is "on" and plays really well.

You clearly miss the point!

If you played big tournaments you would know that you have to play good to get as far as Ko did. You would also know that you cant win the big ones without some luck or a lot of luck, even if its in the finials. Ko deserved the rolls because he made it as far as he did. If Shane would have gotten the rolls, then he would have deserved them for getting as far as he did. Another Great win for Ko.

I Love One Pocket, but theres luck in that game too as there are in all games and without 9 Ball Pool has no chance to go anywhere, so if 9 Ball is dead for you, so is Pool because there aint no money in One Pocket or 14.1.

I disagree. Although I would have liked to see Shane take the title, he did have numerous opportunities early on in the match. Ko did get more fortunate rolls, but SVB also missed a handful of shots.

Neither player shot as well as what I would have hoped for in a world finals match, but such is life.

Big congrats to both players. An extremely difficult field of competition.

Hopefully SVB will continue to stay on track and return next year with an even stronger performance. I'll be rooting for him.

Exactly right! The rolls weren't even for sure, but Shane had some bad mistakes that cost him. He clearly had more than enough good looks at the table to win this, but didn't quite pull it off.

.... quite possibly the worst thread title in AZB history.

This is a forum. This thread may not flow with popular opinion and quite frankly I do not care. I have posted plenty of positive things as well as some negative and am pretty active on here. Feel free to disagree with me, I won't lose any sleep. I will emphasize THE FINAL MATCH was horrendous with the amount of rolls Ko got and IN MY OPINION he did not deserve to win THE FINAL. He also missed more than Shane. He earned his spot getting there but I don't think he earned the title outright.

I'm not afraid to say what I believe and will continue to do so. Shane may not have won but he has proven that he is one of the top players in the world whether he plays domestically or internationally and that is indisputable.

So please feel free to post a 'worst thread of the year' and be sure to link this and bash me. You have every right to do so.

For those of you who have ever said or felt the same way in regards to another sport or competition, congrats you are either passionate about pool or a total hypocrite.

So i need further explanation because he beat Dennis and little Ko by massive margins for an alt break format. The final was still close and he made it farther than any other American, European or Filipino...

Alex Pagulayan lost in his first world 9 ball championship and then won 1-2 years later if I'm not mistaken.

Pool seems to be the only sport/game where the participants want to remove ALL luck. Luck plays a big part in much bigger sports than pool and the players and fans just accept it. Try to do the same guys. You'll be happier.

Congrats to Ko. A worthy champ.

Yeah, Shane's not even a great player....Only person to win three straight US open titles, and one of two to win 4 US opens, but he still needs to work a lot on his game to be a "great" player... Not the best, just to be great....

I told you my friend. He needs a lot of work. I have watched him performing really bad in a lot of matches. And missing lots of shots. It could be his mental game that needs work.

He is not what I would call a "great" player. Maybe in the future. Right now he is overrated.

Really? Other fans just accept it? What world are we talking about? As much luck as there was for Ko would make the news on sportcenter, a video on youtube and more rants on facebook than rants about politics. How many times have you called bullshit over a ref's decision? We aren't talking 'oh everything got perfect lucky during a regular season match' we are talking shanking a ball into the trees and getting kicked on to the green during the masters lucky.

OBVIOUSLY you can't remove ALL luck. That is not what I am saying. However, when the luck is ASTRONOMICAL then yes there will be controversy.

As a participant I would much rather play well than shit out and get lucky.

Do you even understand the game of pool? Like I said ask those that are Great and they will say he isn't only great but one of the best

He performed better in the finals than Ko did. Dennis, Darren and Little Ko lost my huge margins in this tournaments and you could attribute that to mental game. So are they over rated? You literally have no idea what you are talking about. Shane is not a God but he is definitely top 5 if not 3 in the world on any given day. Heads.

If a pool game does that to you , then you have issues. Seek help.

Read my signature. That quote from Cleary should help elucidate my point for you. You should seek some reading comprehension lessons if you think I'm sick about the result of a pool match. I'm sick from peoples' reactions.

How do fans react during the Superbowl? I realize that there were idiots in the chat, no doubt but things like that get said by every other sports fan.

I understand a lot more than you think. You don't want to believe what happened to your "hero". It's clear that you don't understand the game of pool. That's why you guys keep posting like small kids. And creating threads full of negativity.

As I said before, maybe tomorrow you will think more clearly.
