Tate, I'm sorry if I came off a little pissy. Its just I work to try and have people pay for the pros time. talent and accomplishments instead of the oh hes a desperate pool player we can do whatever we want as long as they feel famous.Actually, this is an issue I am sensitive to and have discussed at length with Celeris. They have paid for pro participation in the past on a higher level. Unfortunately, the reason it's not paid in this case is this is a small section of the game with a relatively small budget.
What Celeris is offering in return is the players can advertise their web sites and so forth in the profile. They are looking for volunteer known players who want to participate. I imagine that we will not get the top 20 players in the world and that's fine. But we might. Some players and instructors want the exposure to this large, world-wide market.
Players who want exposure to tens of thousands, if not millions of active, well funded gamers are welcome to participate here. The marketing power and world- wide reach of Virtual Pool is actually quite appealing on a commercial level, and anybody else who participates commerically is charged to do so.
Also, I have seen the online, web real time version, and I can tell you this game may just rival the real world game in tournament participation. You can have a virtual tournament, invite your buddies, and whoever win gains control of the room. Private messaging, prize funds, the whole bit.
I invite all top players to get in on this - it's going to attract many thousands of eyeballs. It takes very little effort to participate.

Ps. plus Donny Mills killed all his action anyway by wiping the floor with everyone except Shane - so he may as well be famous.

I appreciate what you are doing and I also feel its a great opportunity for exposure for the players. I still have my opinions on getting then paid but I understand your situation too. Keep it going man and I wish you more success in the future.
Mark,
We got word that two of the AZ members I was really hoping for, Chris Bartram and Donny Mills, want to be in Virtual Pool 4.
Steve already had Corey Harper and Max Eberle . I hope we can get Dennis Hatch and a few other member-pros in on it.
Chris
Chris,
Dennis is hatchetman71 on here. Shoot him a PM.

There will be a small Play the Pro section in the upcoming release of Virtual Pool. My buddy, Tall Steve, publisher of Virtual Pool, is looking for pro player's, semi pro's and top amateur's who would like to be featured in Virtual Pool 4.

BTW - years ago (maybe late 90's)there was a fellow from California trying to get a pool video game up and going. He had at least one version out.
I met with him a couple of times but cannot remember his name or the games name.
I keep thinking something like PoolShark, and was working on a game called 'skins'? My curiousity is getting to me! (He was a friend of John McChesney from old McDermott Tour).

If they need a random balding obese guy, have them contact me.

Mark,
Anybody else?
Mark, here is the problem. Putting some professional pool players faces in a game like this does not boost sales. Until you are somebody, you are a nobody.
I have Virtual Pool 3 on my iphone, play it all the time. Do I have a problem playing "Curley", "Slow Roll", or "Magic Wolf"? Nope... Does adding Shane, Alex and Donny Mills in there make it awesome, HELL YES, but its not going to influence my purchase or get me to pay more??? nope.
ANYTHING a pool player can put his face on that gets "out there", is good for them. The long term "investment" could be worth much more than a few bucks in the short term.
This may sound goofy but what about making players like me and other pros have certain strengths when you play one of us on the game for example- Bartram big heart and grinds doesnt give up. Donny has the controlled break that makes you puke lol. Corey's soft break. Svbs box 10ball break. Stuff like that. Maybe that could be simulated on the game. That would be so awesome!
Not goofy at all. VP does have the player ability settings including mental settings. Some things you mentioned like break speed are not currently in it but most of them are. This may sound goofy but what about making players like me and other pros have certain strengths when you play one of us on the game for example- Bartram big heart and grinds doesnt give up.
