Just wanted to show my old JOSS that I had refinished by Ryan Theewen (ratcues). I would recommend Ryan to anyone wanting a refinish job. He had a FAST turnaround, great communication and did a flawless job on my cue. The finish job was much better than my pictures show. Got an old gold letter Joss shaft matched and I can barely tell a difference in the ring work. Thanks Ryan!

I heard that Muellers keeps Ryan in a dark damp basement and only feeds him beef jerky and black coffee.
He also wears a wrestling singlet and helmet 24/7 and mumbles 'glory days' to himself while working on cues.

But he sure does some beautiful work!!

If Joss made more cues that looked like this one they would sell a lot more cues then the rounded point crap they now offer.
Great looking cue.

Ryan is certainly a great choice for refinish work. First, he does great work and next he is trust worthy and honest. While this is always expected it is certainly not always the case here on the forum, far to many problems have occured lately.

However, I all the confidence in the world in both Ryan and Meullers Recreational products!!!

Great looking cue.

With sharp points, they would sell more cues to a certain small slice of the cue market.

Danny Janes has been in the cue business since the 1960's. I'm guessing he has a good grasp on what is best for him business-wise.

I am not certain that is completely true, if it were why not make both? With a shop as large as his, it would not be a problem at all to make what the public wants. I never really did understand why Joss stopped making short spliced cues in the first place, I have always felt that CNC cut points are kinda cheap looking. I mean even Cues made in China are short spliced, and the reason they are building them this way to hide the fact they are mass produced.

I wish Danny would go back to Short Spliced Cues, but since I also do a little cue building myself I know it can be a little more expensive, which does bite into the profit margin and that today is something that is hard to deal with.
