Reliable cuemakers

Cue makers I've worked with and had great experiences:

Skip Weston
Andy Gilbert
Mike Webb
Bill Webb
Edwin Reyes
Paul Fanelli
James White
Kerry Zeiler
Joel Hercek
Dennis Searing
Kevin Varney

I've not yet received a cue from all of them and not all the transactions were perfect but every single one of them has gone above and beyond the call of duty when it comes to customer service. I very much look forward to getting cues from Webb, Webb, Fanelli, White, Zeiler, Hercek and Searing and can't wait to order more from the others.

I realize I have a problem and I'm seeking counseling!

I would definately say Phillippi and also Greg Kucharski,go to his site www.gregskues.com and take a look, his cues are of great quality and hit just as good as alot of the top cuemakers but hs prices are very reasonable and he is great to deal with,he is one of the guys flying under the radar making around 15-20 cues a year.

I have to add Pat Diveney to this list. Delivers on time with the best customer service I have delt with so far. Pat makes an awesome cue.

Reliable cue maker

Who else you got? Not neccessarily somebody who does things in a hurry, just somebody who does it when they say they will.[/QUOTE]

For me it would have to be Jack Madden, Jim Buss and Ernie Gutierrez.

I have bought cues from each and they were all done to my specs and I was completely happy with the transactions before and after the transactions. Their follow up and customer service was and remains superb!

I was pleasantly impressed by Mike Lambros. He said a lead-time and I assumed he was giving roundabout numbers. When he called me to say he was shipping, I was shocked!

For the rest, I cant' say anything bad about a cuemaker who says 4-6 months and it comes at 8 months. It's the reported guys who say 6 months, and 3 years later you wonder if he remembers you that give "cuemaker time" a bad reputation.

I was pretty happy with kind and candid conversations I had with Trudy Fuller when I ordered my Judd. They're actually pretty close to my hometown, so we had lot's to talk about. The cue was done in time, and shipped/packaged well. Another thing to note is that it came out weighing exactly at what I had ordered, which was a first for me with other custom cue orders.
I'm also pretty happy with the way Wes Hunter has treated me too. I currently play with a Hunter, and even though I didn't purchase it directly from Wes, he's still been very helpful and kind in responding to emails and phone calls. And I might add.......................although his cues are pretty non-traditional in design (and some downright UGLY!) I consider Wes to be one of the better, yet under rated cuemakers around.

I agree with Fred 100%!! Mike is a fantastic person to work with and very reliable. He recently agreed to do a special cue for me and after the holidays we will get more into the design process. I already have one of his cues and if you have not tried one I suggest you do. Mike's description of the "hit" of his cues is right on the money, solid, not stiff but very lively at the same time..
Great guy IMO.

Cue makers I've worked with and had great experiences, in timeline order:

Bill Stroud
Richard Black
JW Petree
Joel Hercek
James White
Dennis Searing
Barry Szamboti
Jim Sickles
John Showman

I haven't gotten cues from Joel (not directly anyway), Dennis or John, but each of them has been great to work with. Also, no cues from Barry and Jim, but they let me pick their brains.

I've had good dealings with Wes Hunter and Wayne Holmes. Both good guys. Wanye is highly underrated and his communication far more thorough than anyone else I've ever done business with.

I'm getting modifications done on my playing cue for free due to some serious customer service by Varney. Just a plug for his customer service :p

Yeah. Kevin's service is great.

..... keith josey.....

I am in no way trying to sell Skins out here and I have nothing but good to say about him and Josey cues, but I just played a little game and scored pretty high. This is for anyone who posts often or who follows the daily grind of AZ. It's a quick little quiz, don't read the posts, just read the author and see if you can guess the maker, I scored pretty high so far :-D This place is very predictable.

I am a VERY big fan of Paul Dayton. He is amazing in every way. Design, quality, service. I wish more of you AZ's knew of his work.

No doubt JimBo and I am certainly no different. Basically because he is the only guy I use for cue repairs and modifications. I'd be willing to bet there are others who are great too but Mike is everything you would look for in a repairman / cuemaker.
Plus I can run to his shop in a pinch, whether he likes it or not :D

Koop I never inteded it to come across as a bad thing, I just wish more people would see the irony in it. The fact is people like who they have delt with, everyone thinks they know the *best* guy or *nicest* when the reality is you only really know about your own experiences, good or bad. I have respect for people who have had a large cross section, rather then the people who have dealt with 4 or 5 guys. Sadly there isn't a large group of people here who have given some of the cream of the crop a try, either due to money issues or otherwise. I'm not trying to talk down about the newbies, but there really is another level if not 2 or 3.
