Reputation "points" on AZbillliards

First let me say, until recently I haven't ever really thought much about this feature. I do go out of my way to give members positive rep when I read a good post. I've given bad rep only a handful times in the past 8 years, fwiw.

Anyway, last week I received a private message that I accessed through the user cp button. It was then that I noticed that my reputation was nearing 1 Billion. Holy sh!t, I thought. It seemed like a really enormous number. During my 8 years here, I took an extended hiatus. So, I'm quite certain that many members here have billions more rep. The curiosity bug has bitten.

Anyone out there want to share what your ginormous numbers are?

2,142,645,426.

My understanding is that the rep system is broken and thus, the REALLY large numbers. I may be wrong though.
If not, I'm actually pretty close to the limit. Lol

I have 425051665 with 4 bogus red's in the past month.
Anyone that pass some green on to me I'll return the favor. Lol

How does that work? The more green pts. someone has, the more pts. you get when they give green to you? And vice versa with the red too?

Now at 446526560. Thanks

I've had 2,147,483,647 for some time now.

A couple of weeks ago, Monstermash gave me this red rep " 03-04-2014 09:52 PM Monstermash You're a douche"

I didn't check, but I assumed that for that few hours between me being a douche and me getting green repped for being "hilarious" that my rep dipped below max?

I felt insecure during that time. Monstermash really hurt me and I'd like to thank those guys that took me back to max and restored my self image.

Kevin

Looking back, I just noticed that I got some red rep from the same clown in the last few days. Lol. So maybe I was at the max too and he dropped me back down?!

:-(

There ya go.

Yeah the more you have the more you add or subtract when you rep someone. I think red reps carry half the weight of green.

I didn't have time to check, someone repped me green, interestingly enough for the exact same post that earned me a "You're a douche" from Monstermash, before I could check, but I imagine it takes some off as you can't be over max or max isn't max.

I've learned not to Red rep someone unless they really pissed me off.
Because most of the time they just send Red back at me for no reason.

I hate to break to you-all, but when you reach this number -- 2,147,483,647 POINT(S) TOTAL -- you will get no more points. That's the end of the line. :D

Yes, the rep system is broke. ;)

And, when you rep someone it's always green.

The number 2,147,483,647 is also the maximum value for a*32-bit*signed integer*in*computing. It is therefore the maximum value for variables declared as*int*in many programming languages running on popular computers, and the maximum possible score, money etc. for many*video games. The appearance of the number often reflects an error,*overflow*condition, or missing value.

Holy Cow! I just looked. I got 1,580,268,850.

I've only been a member for a couple years and just assumed I got almost no greenies compared to all the ones everybody is always talking about getting. I'm pretty sure I never got a single red rep so far. Apparently I'm staying just this side of pissing people off. Have to step up my game, I guess.

What can I get with 1.58 billion green points? Can I get a new cue, or at least one of those Delta Elite racks? Kinda figure they must be like the green stamps we used to get at the grocery store back in the day. A cube of Kamui chalk? A cube of Masters chalk?

Aw, c'mon, they can't be totally worthless. Must at least be worth a Kamui tip voucher, wouldn't you think?

I tried to green you again, but it said I had to wait a little bit before I could send some green your way.
