Rhea the new Chapter, without Gene

I think what Rhea is doing is a great opportunity for a once in a lifetime 'life experience'.

We would all like to do something like this - but 'life gets in the way of living'.

I wish her the absolute bet - just keep your head on straight and keep your wits about you. The problem is that the system is just waiting for you to get trapped. You cannot get lazy or crazy.

There will be a point where you will get tired or call it quits because of loss of interest or maybe a 'new' interest.

And as far as a car and all that - sometimes those possessions become a noose around your neck. Maintenance, insurance (which is a killer these days because of any lapse in coverage - impounding of cars etc.)

I agree a car is real handy as a last resort for place to stay and etc. BUT some people get by just fine without any transportation - especially in smaller cities.

My only thoughts are good luck!!!

Book • book • book • book

I'm 100% behind what you choose to do. I keep seeing ppl talk about this is a disaster waiting to happen, or you should have a job to fall back on, or blah blah blah.

It's not like if this doesn't work out your life will cease to exist? You have plenty of experience and skill sets in the work and business environment that you could find a job and support yourself. right?! RIGHT!!

It seems to me like having a job was what was holding you back from what you wanted to do and that was PLAY POOL at a high level. You're doing what almost every great player in the history of the game has done. Except you get the bonus of doing it with Gene, from what i know a great person to teach you.

Go out there and do what it is you want!! Live life to the fullest!! When its all said and done and if you become a great female pro you will have something that the game has been missing for some time now. The intangibles that drive, fuel, and fire a champion.

Alot of ppl subscribe to the whole you don't need to Gamble to be great. True to an extent but the players who have become Champions that came from Gambling are usually the more feared.

Anyways keep doing what you're doing and when you don't want to anymore go back to being a slave of the system like the rest of the ppl internet coaching you. Zombie apocalypse has begun already they just don't know they are a part of it. lol

If you guys ever venture up to S.Jersey look me up. I don't have a table but I can provide a place to stay for two ppl supporting our great game by living a life dedicated to the game!

That is a pretty awesome post you wrote Calvin.

I have to admit, I have been on the fence about a lot of things that Rhea has put out there. Your post kind of helps me to resign myself to the simple thought that this is Rhea's life, not ours.

Like you said, she can always go back to the regular work world.

But there is one thing I would be doing if I were Rhea and that is, I would be writing a book.

A person doesn't come along everyday with this storyline and it is a real one, filled with the ups and downs of life in general.

Putting down EVERYTHING as it happens NOW is the key, making CHAPTERS of each episode as they occur will make re-writes easier later on and keep the story in sections rather than mixing it up at a later date. If Rhea isn't up to writing a book, she should just call it a diary. Many a diary has turned into a book.

The final book might be years down the road but I have to think that a story like this would give pause to anyone and not just pool players.

Happy Holidays!

She's an excellent writer, too.

The last time I saw this type of desire was from Jeanette Lee in her amateur days. We all know what happened with that, so good luck Rhea!

I don't mean to be combative... But her posts have been a little hard for me to read on here..

Perhaps get the diary down on paper and then get a ghost writer to help her put it down on paper?

Russ

You're right as usual, ShortBusRuss.

She left for Tulsa..........

No update in several days??? Has anyone heard from Rhea?

I'm still in Eau Claire and she got on the bus to whip the world. First stop was Tulsa.

She won $50 the first night and won $200 a day latter.

She had to travel light. No car so her computer is here in Eau Claire. She has no internet access because she has no computer. No laptop.

It's too bad that something couldn't get started here on AZ to help her get one of these tablets or something so she could share her drag down, beat down pool episodes with everyone.

I don't know enough about anything to do this.

This is a pretty cool thing we are all missing right now.

She has allot more tools in her bag than she did 4 months ago.

I'm glad I can call her every once in a while.

Amen Bob! LOL. Great working with you! Have a great holiday! I may live out of a suitcase, but I have a nice home to go home to, and I stay plenty busy on the road...making CERTAIN $$$...not hoping to make a score. All I can say to Rhea is...good luck...and watch your back!

If you are travelling SO LIGHT that you can't even carry or afford a "smart phone", then maybe you are travelling a bit "TOO LIGHT" for the road in today's world.

So the FORUM should get her a tablet? I have a laptop... you do realize that they are specifically designed to be portable?

Look, I like rooting for the underdog as much as anyone, but you never go full retard... YOU NEVER GO FULL RETARD!!!

I'll sooner buy Andrew Cleary's assorted Vegas paraphernalia than donate toward propagating the delusions of this Perfect Aim protege.

With that $250 she won a couple of days ago, she can go buy a simple laptop. She doesn't need anything fancy if all she is doing is browsing the internet, facebook, and youtube.

Lol casino memory is a great thing... only talk about the wins, never the losses...

This conveniently glosses over the $200 she lost the first night... See page 1 for a reminder
