AFAIK, he didn't know any of the regulars in flushing or the Queens pool community. I was planning on introducing him to some of kuyas (short stop pinoys) such as Mhet at Carom. He was my teammate last season, and played mainly in the leagues at Amsterdam.
Thanks for letting us know.
We appreciate it. Too many times we never know why our members left.

We should create a dataset of his 19k posts and:
1) ask AI to distill whatever he was trying to convey.
2) train an agent to keep posting in his style at random intervals on random posts.

Ad 1) this could be the premisse of a movie where it's discovered that he was really a math professor documenting coded governement secrets here on AZ for some mysterious foreign actor.

Did you ever discuss his postings here?

It's funny you mention this because on at least two occasions I accused him of being an AI chatbot that was being trained on the post here. His non-sequitur way of posting random musings into the post, that while the first sentence would start on topic by the third or fourth you were tangled in string theory, or was the shelf of a pool table pocket similar to the event horizon of a black hole...

Genius always comes with equal parts madness let's hope Justin was not a victim of his and his tragic passing was just the universe rolling snake eyes on his turn.

Maybe it was his pet project?
Or a place to vent his odd thoughts? Or he had episodes of psychiatric issues that made him think he was posting sensible things?

What puzzles me is that he has been a prolific poster for so long. That requires a lot of time and energy. All while maintaining a serious job where you can't be that level of crazy.

I'm not sure if the cause of death is known. It could shed light on all this.

Yes, his posts were often far out there. Someone on AZ mentioned he may have lost his battle with cancer. If that was the case, he may have been suffering from "chemo brain". It's a term I learned last year when my sister lost her battle with cancer.

I informed my sister's oncologist that she was talking nonsensical and had pretty severe paranoia. I was afraid she had a brain tumor as well as her other cancer. Her oncologist explained that it's not an uncommon symptom chemotherapy.

We never know what someone else may be going through. It should make us all more accepting and tolerant. RIP Justin, we'll miss you.

I was thinking the same thing. I knew a young guy once who was talking all kinds of nonsense and he ended up dying of a brain tumor.

Death, be not proud, though some have called thee
Mighty and dreadful, for thou art not so;
For those whom thou think'st thou dost overthrow
Die not, poor Death, nor yet canst thou kill me.
From rest and sleep, which but thy pictures be,
Much pleasure; then from thee much more must flow,
And soonest our best men with thee do go,
Rest of their bones, and soul's delivery.
Thou art slave to fate, chance, kings, and desperate men,
And dost with poison, war, and sickness dwell,
And poppy or charms can make us sleep as well
And better than thy stroke; why swell'st thou then?
One short sleep past, we wake eternally

Also Donne:
No man is an island, entire of itself; every man is a piece of the continent, a part of the main. If a clod be washed away by the sea, Europe is the less, as well as if a promontory were, as well as if a manor of thy friend's or of thine own were: any man's death diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind, and therefore never send to know for whom the bells tolls; it tolls for thee.

Our pool community is diminished. RIP Justnum.

Hate seeing this... I remember one of the Jason's always saying he would like to have a beer with the guy, I tended to agree... a sit down convo with him would have been a treat I'm sure. He was good at heart, and that part was easy to see, even through his off the wall postings since I've been here.

RIP Justnum
