Just want to let everyone know that Ronnie stiffed me for $3900 at my poolroom in Hattiesburg. I am not a good player at all and he beat me at the same game that i happen to win this time. We played for 2 days straight and he paid me most of it but during our match in the middle of the night he promised to pay the next day if i let him continue to play. I thought there would be no problem. I know he had Scott Frost and Justin Hall hanging around with him and now he is saying they were in and he cant pay me until they pay him. That was not our agreement. I wanted to quit so this wouldnt happen but his words out of his mouth were I will pay you in full the next day. Well, guess what? He left town the next day and is trying to tell me they are responsible. I have talked to both of them and they are saying he is crazy. I am not going to chase the guy around or anything but i want to let everyone know what happened.

Ronnie Wiseman won $6,000.00 minimum at the Breaker's tourament in Mobile August 2-3.

Betting that kind of money ($700 a game) all of the money should be posted. It doesn't matter if it's Williebetmore; if it's more than a hundred a game, the cash must be posted and each set or game must be paid before another game or set is played.

I think that letting any player hang themselves more than a hundred bucks and you are asking for it. There is very little honor in the gambling world and even the posted money must be watched or it too can disappear.:o :(

Thanks for the heads-up Shawn. You did all of us a service.

He was giving me 10-6 & the breaks. He beat me out of $5k like this already. He got every dime also. I only played because it was at my poolroom. I did it for business. Which tons of people have been showing up for action. Like I said Frost, Justin Hall and Johnny Demet or "rocket" showed up at the same time. Everyone from New Orleans have been showing up & matching up.

That is some expensive advertising! I would recommend sticking with more traditional publicity stunts. There are numerous options that would be much less expensive!! LOL

Ray

post up = no problem

If someone doesn't want to post there is only one reason for that. I can't believe players still get stiffed this way. If it was $5 to $20 a game I made them pay after every game. If more than that a game we post or we don't play. Johnnyt

Conversely, When you extend your opponent credit, you will live to regret it.

Your right i didnt make him post. We were playing by the game $700 a game to be exact and we never raised or lowered the bet. I do think it is my fault for not making him post. I thought his reputation or word was worth more than that. I intend to make sure everyone knows what happened so that he thinks twice of doing things like that.

ANOTHER PRIME EXAMPLE TO MAKE EVERYONE POST...

MY MOM ASKS ME TO GO GET SOMETHING FROM STORE...I TELL HER POST AND I WILL GO HAHAHAHA

and also make sure that you count the money that your mom gave you.

I think Wiseman is coming to the Canadians in about 5 days here in Toronto. Ill warn anybody that gambles with him to make him post first.

"It's all funny when your winnin' big money!!!" Could he have a new nickname coming????

How about this for his new one....."If I'm gonna have to pay, then I sure ain't gonna stay".....or maybe, "If you ever get me stuck, I'm leaving in my truck"......:D

Ronnie stiffed SVB out of around the same amount a few years ago. I think Ronnie eventually made good on it, but it took a while.

Those that dont post lose the most!!
I hate to sound like a jerk but, you played and took that chance when you didnt post. There is no betters insurance in gambling and if he said the other guys were in on it, they probably were but hell, they probably thought they had a winner. When Ronnie lost I would wanna say I had no part either although I couldnt actually do that to someone.

The he said she said thing wont ever really be known unless they fess up. Announcing a stiff job isnt really the way to go IMHO. I would assume you'll get paid eventually by the player since he needs to gamble for a living and would hate to lose action over it. I'd be pissed if I was Ronnie and got stuck like this by the other two guys if thats what happened.

How many times has the guy lost and paid? I would guess most times. We all have things that happen, work it out amongst yourselves and avoid creating more damaging news in the pool world.

From what I understand hes been gambling for over 20 years and this is one of the few times Ive heard of him in this way.............Ive heard alot of things but not this.

Maybe you are best served to learn your lesson and move on instead of damaging someones only way to make a living. Getting stiffed is a part of gambling and not just in pool.........hell ask the bookies if they get paid on all bets!!

Good luck, I feel for you but to be honest it isnt much because its called gambling for more than one reason! POST POST POST and if you dont, keep the results to yourself. I dont think we need more bad press in this game!

Sorry, I know I'm gonna get beat up for that response but its an opinion and a tough lesson learned for the stiffee!!

I know this is about pool, but it doesn't happen anymore (maybe less) gambling on pool than it does sports betting with friends on, golf, bowling, cards, and other games of chance when you don't post. Johnnyt
