I don't know Kevin personally, but I totally agree with Brandon and his post(s).

I buy and sell here as a hobby. I also like to keep most of my transactions private (whether I am the seller or buyer).

Kevin makes a living off of these posts. And he doesn't sell crap. And I totally look @ his links and posts. And yes, I watch some of his items that he has for sale. :)

I can't see why this would be a problem. I have seen many of Kevin's threads that have a cue and a price, also saying that it will be going to eBay starting Sunday. Why would there be a problem in giving both? Saying here is a price for this cue if purchased by x/xx, if not then it is going to the bay - that seems completely reasonable.

In my opinion, Kevin's threads are far less obtrusive than many of the ones that get bumped 10 times a day selling the same thing. I saw one yesterday that had been for sale at the same price for 11 months and had 3 pages of bumps...seriously, that's ok?

As far as the price goes, I completely agree. My earlier post was in reference to the "offer" posts. Having a price that is private because of the nature of the cue is understandable. The issue I have is when someone has a couple hundred dollar cue and wants offers. If you want offers, put it up on eBay and you will be forced into the best offer. If you want someone to purchase something, post a price. When I go to bestbuy, I don't ask the guy the price of a tv to hear him say, "well you can make us an offer on it".

It seems as though people are making this out to be directed towards someone specific, Kevin, and its not so everyone praising his sales really does nothing to fix anything. I have no dealings with Kevin, I dont think, and I have no reason to not want to and I have bid in his auctions. With all that aside people need to focus on the task at hand and not dwell on one person or what they have sold. There is a simple answer to this and someone has already said it and some people are already doing it.....for those that have a cue on Ebay put a link in your signature. I have done it several times and people are going to see it way more than just one time in the wanted and for sale threads. The problem that arises for this is the fact that you now have to actually post something wanted or for sale. The good thing is people will see your link in every other post on this internet pool forum. Posting something for sale will be tough for those who have no idea what they want and want the current market to decide the price but at least its a start.

I didnt read most of the posts in this thread so if posting a link in a signature is a no go then disregard this entire post.

I have said for a long time I would like to see Sub Forums on here for many things, Wanted - For Sale - Cues - Cases - Accessories - Raffles/Auctions, and perhaps someway to sort through the listings by price like Craigslist. That way I can see what cues are for sale under $200 if I have $200 to blow or a Wanted section so I can see what people are looking for.

I know that will take time and money to do though so maybe someone out there who is savvy in this kind of thing could help us all out. We would all benefit from Sub Forums and better search functions which will enable us to find things by price. I honestly think you should have to be a Club Member to sell on here if you sell more than 5 items a year, no membership fees for buyers though, it would help generate revenue and get rid of some of the riff raff crap.

"sold" bumps.....

Another very simple thing that would help reduce the clutter........when you sell your item, no need to bump the thread back to the top......just go back and edit the original post to show it's sold or sale pending, whatever. There's no reason to bump that !!

Just add some fields and allow filter criteria in the for sales/wanted area. This way, people can setup the listing view the way the want.

So when someone make a post, you'll have to include required fields information. Eg. field for "Price Range", include drop down value "best offer", "Private", "Free", "0-200.00" or "All" for the way it is now.

Once setup, if the user only want cues in the 200.00 range, the set the price range filter to show only posts with a value of "0-200.00".

Date Originally posted (system date), add Date Range "Today listing", "This week", "all" for those who do care.

I think you guys get the ideas. The development cost should not be much and I think those we feel strongly about it should help pay for the development of this enhanced features Eg. By become club member, etc.

AZ can setup a donation area by listing the enhanced features to be developed and the cost required for it development. This way users here can vote for the ideas and donate money or become sponsor for specific enhancement to help with enhances feature for this section.

Regards,
Duc.

I don't know anything about you. I have never met you or Kevin, but to me it seems like you seem very stern and judgmental about eBay links.

Especially when a quick search found four threads you made in this forum with links to eBay. That was on the first page; maybe there are more. I am just curious why you are waiving the banner when you have done the exact same thing? Why didn't you just buy a banner ad, or is it because you simply want something for nothing?

Hmmm, why not tell the whole story? Anytime I listed a ebay item here, I also offer to end the Ebay sale for AZers PLUS "I'm offering a 10% discount and FREE shipping (CONUS) to any AZ member!". In other words, I WAS selling the cue HERE!
However, the biggest difference between Kevin and I is I am NOT whining about the new rules! I accept them and endorse them!

Dont worry Ken I will continue to buy from these forums. I have met some wonderful people here and can't wait to meet some more. Although I don't sell anything and every cue I buy I is a player to me ( I can't do the look and not use thing) I am truly glad I stumbled upon az. Look forward to doing business with many of you.

Sounds like a smart plan to me. acedonkey ace still posts his 1/2 piece of used chalk 7 times a week along with 123354128576 other items and I'll sell Bushkas and Szams and Ginas and Tads in secret on eBay and you guys won't have to look at them (I received one negative comment regarding my eBay auctions from one member in 5 years and now the mods have just banned my activity as what? Disruptive to their for sale forum? Oh yeah that will fix things).

Nice job mods. Ever since I joined here (after sellng a Szam on eBay for $55,100 which created quite a stir her on AZ and I'm guessing that really great thread watching that auction would now be banned in favor of some cross-referenced broken overpriced production cue thread) people have been getting ripped off by utilizing unsafe on-line buying practices here at the AZ For Sale Forum. I have been seriously trying to educate people on how to buy safely online, all of which has gone unnoticed by the mods and now this? Are "I was scammed" threads still allowed in the For Sale section or do they go in the Main Forum?

Thanks

Kevin

I'm with you on this Kevin. This was a good place to find out what my friends here were selling on ebay, so I could go to them and avoid the less-scrupulous sellers.

The guys you mention are no different from those who use this place like 'free listing' day on ebay, bogging this area down with overpriced stuff that only sells to fools or those who are willing to take the "lowballer" accusations when they try to get the dealers down to market value.

Good luck, Kevin.

I personally pay to use and support this forum.

It is an insult much like spam to view a for sale thread only to have a link to ebay as a post. I pay to support this forum. I want to see what is offered for sale. I do not want to see what is not even offered for sale on this forum but a link to ebay. This is not ebay and I have no interest in a link to ebay. It is false advertising on the forum. For sale means for sale. Keeping prices private is no big deal and many times prefered by the buyer. But Spaming me to an ebay link and not even mentioning it in the thread's title is maddening and a waiste of my time.
If I want to know what is available on ebay I go to ebay.

Thank you moderators,
Nick Serdula

I gotta say, that George guy was the nutzzz  Ok back on topic. Wait, he was the topic...

I like people posting a link to their ebay cues, just don't bump it 127 times. That goes for anything, be it a low end production cue or one (sorry JCIN) with a Unicorn horn handle!

Ya.... You are Great!!!

I usually dont chime in and follow the rules best i can, but this site truly means alot to me so just a quick chime..
I am also a member of a flashlight forum that runs pretty smooth and strict

http://www.cpfmarketplace.com/mp/announcement.php?f=95&a=25
Browse around and see some of their other rules.. I especially like new member rules and posts must be approved first (im sure its alot of work though) and like i said- they are pretty strict on following them. I see them warn people on bumps almost everytime some sneaks one in.

There's alot less members and alot less bs in their forsale stuff. They have a separate dealers forum from the basic joe shmo just selling his stuff.
I agree what kevin said that his stuff isnt all the clutter. I too have linked to some ebay stuff. I do enjoy watching his auction and cues and i trust him as a respected az member and would never hesitate doing business with him. (i use his example as he's been kinda singled out here on his own accord, i also enjoy seeing others ebay stuff if its not junk)
I found this site and learned more about pool cues cases and the industry than i ever would have. I have used az to buy sell trade dozens and dozens of things.

I agree something has to change in the forsale section. I do seemingly have to trudge through tons of stuff to find any real stuff to look at. But i also understand the moderators frustrations and respect the job they do. Please digest what everyone's saying and maybe we can make this a little better and easier on everyone.
Thanks for listening to my .02
Thanks to AZ and all the respected members for being a great site!
