Saturday: Semifinals of 2013 U.S. Open 9-Ball Championship

JAM, eye-candy rating please

Jam,

Just curious. I have never been able to figure out what makes men attractive to women so I wouldlike you to rank the following 1-10 as eye-candy. Curious who the winner is:

1) Fabio
2) Donny Mils
3) Niels
4) Mika
5) Thorsten
6) Karl Boyes

Now, don't cop out on me. Don't say they are all 10's. I want a drool rating of 1-10 on each.

And who did I leave off the list who should be on there? Like I say, women are tough to figure on this. I was shocked as hell when my wife told me that Yul Brynner and Charles Bronson were good-looking. Paul Newman I could understand, but Bronson?

Have fun!

I think he would sell more tickets of Van-Van v. Niels than he would of Shane v. Jayson, truth be told. EVERYBODY wants to see this match of Van-Van and Niels, two mighty warriors from different corners of the world. I wish somebody would contact Pat and beg him to reconsider.

it's gonna be a tough match for both considering the tight finals match in the World Cup of Pool just about last month. Niels will do everything to play perfectly (as what he did on most of the matches in the WCOP) to match Van-van's tremendous CB control.

As for Accu-Stats choices on streams please remember that this package is sold to overseas TV markets and they demand to see hot-seat matches. Pat really does not have the power to tell his customers what they want.

Fleming does a fantastic job. He works all day every day and I would hope that his efforts would be rewarded with praise rather than condemned.

Jerry, everybody loves Pat and Accu-Stats. They just hope he can push one match -- Feijen v. Cortez -- up a bit and film it after Shane v. Jayson match. That's all. :)

1) Fabio -- 10-plus
2) Donny Mils -- don't know what he looks like
3) Niels -- 10 plus
4) Mika -- 5
5) Thorsten -- 7
6) Karl Boyes -- 10-plus.

And let's add Oliver Ortmann. I give him a 10-plus-plus-plus! :grin-loving:

As I was posting in the Open threads this week, Keith was reading AzBilliards Forum in the den on another computer. At the beginning of the week, I was ga-ga over Fabio. Keith would walk by me on my work computer and say, "So how's Fabio doing?"

Later, I was posting about the handsome man Oliver. Later in the day, as Keith walked by me, he said, "So how's your boy Oliver doing?" :grin-square:

Out of all the players today, I really enjoy Niels, Oliver, and Fabio. :lovies:

I'd pay to see a race to 75-100 , SVB vs Lee Van.

10b only, or 8, 9, and 10b.

Start it Sunday since both guys are in town.

Man, oh, man, that really sucks a big weenie. Of all matches, the one between Niels and Van-Van is the one I really was hoping to sweat. Why can't they have the matches at separate times? EVERYBODY would watch both, I'm sure.

Thanks for the info.
I totally agree.
There's no reason they shouldn't be streaming Neils and Lee.

Wow! That is strong. If he wins this tournament, it will put him right up there at the top. Lee Van Corteza is having a very, very good year in 2013.

What i'm thinking is this - even if he is lands 2nd place in this tournament, he may still get top rank in the WPA. The top 4 from last year's open had these points:
Van Boening - 417 points
Orcollo - 330 points
Pagulayan - 292 points
Reyes - 250 points

I just need to know how many points Hohmann is gonna get for the 2013 US Open.

My prediction for Finals:

That brings us to the Shaw VS Van-Boening showdown that the crowd has been awaiting all week. These two champions will face off for the hot-seat at 1pm EST, while Niels Feijen takes on Van Corteza on the one loss side for the right to take on the loser of the Van Boening/Shaw match at 3pm. All roads lead to the finals, scheduled to kick off at 7pm Saturday night.

Shane and Shaw playing twice is Highly probable.

That's a strong prediction. Everybody is singing Jayson's praises this week. I must admit that his performance was a surprise to me, not knowing much about him previously.

Yeah if I had to wager I'd be leaning towards a rematch of the hot-seat. I'm a big fan of having to beat the "A" side twice, but if I were travelling up the "B" side I'd be thrilled. Regardless were going to be treated to some great pool today.

Well..I am gonna cheer for Niels. A 400+ ball runner, near the top of the pro pool player pile for a loooong time, he has paid his dues out there and I would love to see his efforts rewarded TODAY!

I find that reprehensible. Angel has been filming for several years, and NEVER attempted to "sell" any footage. The fact that she has been working diligently on a pool documentary alone should be enough for her to come in. The US Open has been part of pool history for decades. For her to be 'banned' even from watching is total BS on Barry's part. Just one more nail in his coffin, imo.

I just learned on FB that Angel Levine was banned from attending the U.S. Open this year. She flew in from Chicago yesterday to check out the festivities. She is the lady who's been working on a documentary about pool called "Raising the Hustler."

When Barry saw her out in the hallway, he asked her if she would be filming. He informed her that he is under contract to not have anybody film. I am assuming it is a contract between him and Pat Fleming of Accu-Stats, which Accu-Stats has all rights to the filming of the event.

When she came to the gate, they informed her that she was banned from entering. I felt bad for her, traveling all the way there from Chicago. Why couldn't she go in and just watch, if she said she would not film?

Meanwhile, I see video snippets all over the place from the matches on FB and elsewere, but nobody says anything to them about using their cellphones to film.

Anyway, I lay all this out there to let you know that I don't think it is possible for anybody other than Accu-Stats to film. I, too, woud love to see this match of Niels and Van-Van. I wish they would reconsider and change the time.
