Saturday: Semifinals of 2013 U.S. Open 9-Ball Championship

1) Fabio -- 10-plus
2) Donny Mils -- don't know what he looks like
3) Niels -- 10 plus
4) Mika -- 5
5) Thorsten -- 7
6) Karl Boyes -- 10-plus.

And let's add Oliver Ortmann. I give him a 10-plus-plus-plus! :grin-loving:

As I was posting in the Open threads this week, Keith was reading AzBilliards Forum in the den on another computer. At the beginning of the week, I was ga-ga over Fabio. Keith would walk by me on my work computer and say, "So how's Fabio doing?"

Later, I was posting about the handsome man Oliver. Later in the day, as Keith walked by me, he said, "So how's your boy Oliver doing?" :grin-square:

Out of all the players today, I really enjoy Niels, Oliver, and Fabio. :lovies:

Jam, you are so so cool and Keith we all know how cool he is!

The king and Queen of pool couples!

I cant wait until that book comes out, i hope alot of your pool hall experiences are included in that book, if there is enough room left after Keiths story!

I find that reprehensible. Angel has been filming for several years, and NEVER attempted to "sell" any footage. The fact that she has been working diligently on a pool documentary alone should be enough for her to come in. The US Open has been part of pool history for decades. For her to be 'banned' even from watching is total BS on Barry's part. Just one more nail in his coffin, imo.

I dunno, mon. There is a strong chance (51/49:rolleyes:?!) that Barry truly has contractually granted exclusive filming rights to a 3rd party.

I was thinking about watching the PPV finals later today.

Since I think banning Angel from watching the tournament is an over-reaction by Barry, I've decided to boycott Accu-stats by not purchasing the PPV of the finals. Perhaps other posters should protest this by boycotting Accu-stats too.

I think he would sell more tickets of Van-Van v. Niels than he would of Shane v. Jayson, truth be told. EVERYBODY wants to see this match of Van-Van and Niels, two mighty warriors from different corners of the world. I wish somebody would contact Pat and beg him to reconsider.

There is only one TV table setup; therefore, the only way possible to film the Van-Van-Feijen match is to delay the matches at the Open, and we all know that is most probably Not an Option.

For the bean counters in the Open Calcutta, it pays out four sports. Check it out:

Shane Van Boening, 2,700
Jayson Shaw, 1,900
Chris Melling, 600
Oscar Dominguez, 500
Corey Deuel, 400
Van-Van, 600
Keith Bennett, 200
Darren Appleton, 700
Imran Majid, 200
Karl Boyes, 300
Tommy Kennedy, 200
The Greek, 250
Jeremy Sossei, 300
Niels Feijen, 400
Mike Dechaine, 200
Johnny Archer, 500

Here's the tournament payouts.

WOW!!! What happened after the top two??? Shaw goes for $1,900 and Lee Van $600 ... CRAZY! I don't even get it. I know Shaw plays outstanding but no way he's that much favorite. I highlighted some shockers to me. Any explanation would be great 'cause I must be an idiot considering how much I just don't understand it.

I'm even giving myself a little leeway for crazy and not tripping that Shane at 4-5 times every champion other than Shaw.

I believe Jayson and SVB were the first two picked, they were picked by winners of blind bids.

Archer that low was a steal and Daz at 1/4 of SVB is insanity.

The break... the top two buys are breaking the best this week... and thus far that has been the diff... in the matches...

I personally don't care how good looking the players are. I would rather watch SVB vs Jayson. That's just me though

Jam,

Just curious. I have never been able to figure out what makes men attractive to women so I wouldlike you to rank the following 1-10 as eye-candy. Curious who the winner is:

1) Fabio
2) Donny Mils
3) Niels
4) Mika
5) Thorsten
6) Karl Boyes

Now, don't cop out on me. Don't say they are all 10's. I want a drool rating of 1-10 on each.

And who did I leave off the list who should be on there? Like I say, women are tough to figure on this. I was shocked as hell when my wife told me that Yul Brynner and Charles Bronson were good-looking. Paul Newman I could understand, but Bronson?

Have fun!

Efren should be there! He's the magician, action star and matinee idol rolled into one! :)
look how girls fall for him

This is what is wrong with pool. Most people are so small minded that they can't see the big picture. Instead of being afraid that someone could steal their thunder, think about how a pool documentary might actually help create interest in our game. Any attempt to raise the exposure of our game, that's being done in a positive way, should be nurtured along with the help of our industry. That they banned this woman only leads to more division and hard feelings. I really can't believe that this happened.

SVB and Shaw were still undefeated, Corteza already had one loss.

I must admit that his performance was a surprise to me, not knowing much about him previously.

For those of us in Scotland, it isn't really a surprise. There are many players who have known him a lot longer than I have and he has always been mentioned as a future superstar. But that was on the 7-foot English 8-Ball (Blackball) tables. Now, on the 9-foot American tables, those predictions are starting to come true.

Nobody's under no illusions about the tough task Jayson has ahead of him, but his game has grown from strength to strength over the last wee while and no matter what happens today, the Scottish pool community is incredibly proud of the "wee man".

Good luck Jayson and get right intae them!

Man, oh, man, that really sucks a big weenie. Of all matches, the one between Niels and Van-Van is the one I really was hoping to sweat. Why can't they have the matches at separate times? EVERYBODY would watch both, I'm sure.

Thanks for the info.

they need to fire the scheduler ! They need to have them at separate times ! I would like to see Shane snap off another one but I like all 4 in the finals also and believe any one of them could win it. Would be nice to watch both games instead of only one !

I'm heading to the pool room to watch these matches.

GREAT WRITE-UP, JAM!

They could do it that way! But Barry would never listen to anyone who suggested it! :p

Good to read you. Haven't seen you in a long while. You-all must be proud as punch of Jayson.

The excitement begins now! :happydance::happydance::happydance:

It sure is disappointing.

I would like to say that I did e-mail Accu-Stats about this matter, and they were kind enough to reply during their busy schedule:

Barry scheduled it this way. Three matches are scheduled for today. The finals are at 7pm. The semi's are at 3pm. The Hotseat Match is at 1pm. The Feijen/Corteza match is also at 1pm. There is no time left.

I was impresed that they did indeed take the time to reply back, so that's cool. I understand how logistics can sometimes work. so it is what it is.
