Save Money on your US Open Room

Many AZB'ers stay at the Red Roof Inn across the street from where the US Open is held. This year AZBilliards and Red Roof Inn are teaming up to save you some dough. Red Roof has made all of our readers members in the AZBilliards Group Discount plan whereby you will get a 20% discount off of the best available rate. Plus, Red Roof will donate 1% of your stay to the Pro Player Travel Fund! So you get to save money and assist the pro game at the same time. Talk about a win-win!

And this is so simple. Here is how it works: When you book your reservations using volume plus number 602763, you'll save 20% off Red Roof Inn's Best Available rate.

Red Roof Inn's volume plus number works just like an online coupon code. If you go through RedRoof.com directly, all you have to do is enter 602763 in the VP+ / ID # slot. You can also make reservations at the hotel directly, 800-Red Roof, or contact our sports group department at 248-398-0274. There is no need to show a card at check in.

The Red Roof Inn for the USOpen is the one at 724 Woodlake Dr. just across from the convention center in Chesapeake. If you wish to talk directly with them their number is: 757-523-1826.

This program is not limited to the US Open or to just this Inn in Chesapeake. The discount is good at ANY Red Roof Inn at any time. And the 1% donations will help deliver our pros to events overseas to represent the USA. A tip of the AZB hat goes out to Red Roof Inn and all of you who will choose to stay with them on your travels away from home.

Brilliant! I hope this is just a beginning for more types of relationships in the future. Great job Jerry! I have never stayed at a Red Roof Inn before but will definitely look into booking with them next out-of-town tourny that I attend.

Perhaps a head-line on AZ front page is in order? Also if there isn't one already a link created such as AZ Corporate discounts? This way in case I forget I don't have to create a thread to ask. Nice work and congratulations!

Had I not booked my room way in advance, I would have used Red Roof Inn.

I just spoke to Barry. This is gearing up to be the best US Open show ever. HOF banquets for Johnny Archer and Allison Fisher, strongest field. Reports from local hotels are rooms are going fast.

Thanks Jerry,

Has anyone stayed at this particular Red Roof Inn before? Can someone give me some review?

This is great news! :thumbup2:

There are a couple of Red Roof Inns we frequent when we're not RV'ing it.

One is in TULSA!

And they have very nice rooms, with great service. The ones we've stayed at also accepted our dogs.

This news will make our next stay even more enjoyable!

Hey Sunny,

That is where we stayed last year. It was clean and the beds weren't bricks, that is all I look for in a hotel for a tournament really. A big plus was that they have mini fridges in the rooms.

I would stay there again without hesitation.

The only downside was the internet access was a PITA.

Thanks for the information Jerry. Traveling to a tournament out of town can get expensive and saving a little on your room will help out.

I wonder if we could have a time for the AZ forum members to meet. Maybe in the room where the tournament chart is located would work as a meeting place. I'd like to put a face with some of the forum names I see on the forum.

Excellent news! Red Roof is owned by the same company as Motel 6, and I've stayed at many across the country, and always found them to be convenient, economical, and clean! 20% is a great discount, and twice what AAA and/or AARP offer! Way to go...and a great way to fund the Pro Player Travel Fund!

I was thinking the same thing... I might be able to get a meeting room at the Marriott for free or really cheap if it's of interest.

I stay at the Wingate every year as it is quiet, clean, has a pool to help wake me up in the morning, and has a few pros that stay there. J Archer and SVB stayed there last time, saw them down at the pool. My friend stays at RR Inn every year and I visited his room. They were fine, had no issues at all. Im already booked this year, but I will use that discount anytime a Red Roof is available and clean when I travel.
I am curious about the player travel fund. Does anyone know how you can contribute to this in other ways? It seems like this would be a good thing to know. Local tournaments could throw in a 1% of 2 if they had knowledge of it.

More things like this need to happen - IMO.

If I am not mistaken, I think Mike Janis and the Viking Tour were the first to make a relationship with Red Roof, but it looks like Jerry and Mike (H.) took it to the next level with the 1% bonus! Very Cool!

AZBilliards is seeking more deals for the readers. We are negotiating a special rate for rental cars, insurance and several other items. When we found out that all of you, as 'subscribers' (does not matter that it is free), constitute a 'group body' it opened up some doors. So stay tuned for more deals. We will also somehow be communicating with you about the closest Red Roof Inn to the major tournaments around the country.

Now, if we could just somehow wrangle a beer discount...

Yes, you can check the Wanted/For-Sale section here on AZ. There is a sticky called Support the AZ Pro Fund. We have donated several cues to the Pro Fund, and you can buy the Camitilo cue in that thread and 100% of the money goes to the AZ Pro Fund.

What can I do for you?

Anyone who needs any specifics on the Pro Player Fund can email me at jerry@azbilliards.com and I will get you whatever you may need. I am traveling at the moment as my wife and I are celebrating our 40th anniversary but I will be back in the office Monday afternoon.

Thanks for the info on the player fund. Now that I am aware of it, I will see if I can get some local events to "sponsor" it with donations from local events.
I think if we could drive more places to do this, it would create a better pool scene, and maybe even lead to a large enough travel fund to have events that play for a chance to win a paid trip to compete in an event etc.
