Scott Frost $10,000 One Pocket Challenge!

Sure I'd bet. But something like 50 or 100. Like I said I tried to make a sweat bet on Alex yesterday. Just cause I said I'd bet doesn't mean I'd back the game for 10k. Whole different ball game there...

Guess the only question now is what will you bet, since there is an offer out there, if you bet 10k you get the prize of putting any of those players in the box.

If someone could get 100 people together to bet $100 each then they would have a match. Even 50 people at $200 or just enough people to cover a big bet because it doesnt matter if 1 person bets $10K or $5K or if it is split up 100 ways. This would be a decent way to get a lot more match ups to take place. I am sure Scott or any other player would be willing to play if the money was right. Just as an example, people could put money into somekind of account or send someone money via paypal or something and when it reached a predetermined amount then the game would be played. With all the people out there that say " they know who is the better player or they would bet on a certain player " this would be the perfect way for them to do so or to just keep their mouth shut. The minimum bet could be $100 and up..........Just an idea.

ok in galveston...

With the exception of Cliff, cause something is not right about his game right now, I'd also bet on any of the guys on this list against Frost. I tried to get a bet off on Alex yesterday against Frost, but I got no takers.

I'd also add Corey and SVB to the list of players I'd pick over Frost.

Just my opinion of course, but I will bet on any of these guys if they ever matched up.

Cliff is playing pretty well in Galveston, it seems. But i agree, i would have bet on Alex as well. And if i'm not mistaken, we would have been winners.

The operative words in this post and your last are "not sure". Why would you put this crap on here Lenny if you weren't sure? You really disappointed me with this whole thread and how you handled it. You wimped out all the way, and now you want to try to make me look bad. Grow up Lenny!

Listen, perhaps you can make some sense. Grow up?, I am relaying what Scott said to me personally after he spoke with the person backing Efren. He did not mention anything at all about it being Alex so did it ever come to your mind that it could be someone totally different willing to back Efren other then you and Alex and that is why Scott said that?, probably not.

I do not need to cover my ass, Scott made a statement and wanted this challenge out there, if he wants to play it as he stated with Efren then so be it, it makes no difference to me whether he does or doesn't. Anyone with half a brain knows I am just putting the challenge out there for Scott and I wish him luck in finding someone to match up with for the fans the get a good show.

P.S. I do not care about nor need your respect Jay to be a man or respected by my peers, your not the Almighty. Most people on here know I am just trying to get Scott matched up and I am simply relaying his message so flaming me is petty and pointless.

Lenny <---- Just got back from a short vacation and is done relaying messages for a bit.

From the original post what everyone is also missing is that the match would be on neutral turf in a spot that Lenny could stream/record/sell future DVDs from. That was also probably a killing to the LA proposal.

If it happens in Arizona I will stream it FREE!, if it happens outside of AZ then I told TAR it is all theirs and I wish them well with it. Trust me what they do is not easy and if you think they are getting rich doing it they are not.

I want everyone to know one thing, Scott wanted this challenge match if Efren stepped up to take place in AZ at Kolby's. He is the house pro there and it would be a good event for the room, that is why there is about 10 in this thread who would love to have it. The room needs and event like this so it happening there is a good thing and I could not agree more. Most likely Efren could care less what room it is played at. Hopefully they get the game together wherever they both choose to play for everyone in this threads sake because I am surprised to come back after a short little vacation and still see it on page 1.

...I'd also add ...SVB to the list..I'd pick over Frost.

You do know it is 1p that this thread is about, right? While SVB might shoot your money at Frost, I doubt he'd put his own out there, even up.

Why don't you quit while you're ahead Lenny.

To recap: 1. YOU put up a challenge. 2. I accepted it. 3. YOUR challenge began changing almost immediately.

Everything after that is just so much conversation.

I talked to Alex last night and he confirmed that he was the other partner with Jay. He also said that if they played, definitely no jump cues. IMO jump sticks in one pocket would turn the game into a joke.

I believe it's about time that they put a limit on jump cue use in specific pool games. they already solved the cut or soft break dilemma that has irritated a lot of players.

I remembered some old discussions here regarding jump cue use requires a huge amount of skill to execute. seems like the obvious has already come out, jump cues gives the player a much easier escape route as oppose to calculating the 4 sides of the table. 1P should be played the way it is, precise kicking and positioning calculations and knowledge of playing and rolling of the CB on the table, not off the table.

the idea of jump cues is really ridiculous. are we seeing the end to jump cues?

Efren v Scott at Kolby's

I am wondering if Scott would honestly play Efren at Kolby's for $10,000+. If this is the case and anyone is interested in staking Efren, I will take a piece of it as well. If Efren does not want to play Scott with "home table" advantage, I recommend that someone install a Diamond table for this match. The sale of the stream could easily cover the cost of the transport and install and then return the table to where it came from. I could probably donate a table for the duration of the match, but there is probably one closer.

So there is another option. Jay, I am not trying to get into your match, but if you are interested in this and Scott will play I think everyone would enjoy it.

Wouldn't Efren love to play Scott at Kolby's race to 21 for 10 grand? I know an offer was made for neutral ground, but that has obviously changed. Isn't Efren still a favorite even at Kolby's?

If I were Efren's backers I would make the game at Kolbys. With Efren's experience and knowledge of one hole I still see him as a healthy favorite, even at Kolby's.

Why quibble over the original offer when you have a game you would probably make anyway, and the original offer is off the table?

Kolby's already has a diamond pro am with pro cut pockets

That is my point exactly. Kolby's "already" has a Diamond table that Scott (not Efren) plays on regularly. Home court advantage is one thing, playing on the basket that you know tilts three degrees to the left from the right wing is totally different.

Give Efren a couple of hours on the table and I don't think there will be much of an advantage any more for Scott. I've seen Efren adapt to almost anything.

In the eighties at a pool room named the Orange County Sports Arena, tournaments were played on cheap Murray tables. A particular pocket was giving the players fits, spitting balls out, up until Efren played on it. Never rejected any of his shots, even though he'd never played on the table! He whupped Keith, Jose Parica, all the players with ease on what appeared to be funny tables that they all had experience playing on.

He is still truly an amazing player.

Scott asked me to post this challenge match up for him, it is really simple here Jay, I am not his backer nor am I the player, just putting out what he asked me to do as a favor. Him changing his mind was his choice, I was not surprised that he did not play where you would have liked him to and I am not surprised you did not want it at Kolby's. I am surprised that he did not accept on neutral ground after stating such but ultimately it is his choice and he had a change of heart.

Me stating that you were not one of the backers for this match came from Scott and he asked me to post that is response to you stating it is all BS, I never spoke with Efren's backer. To be honest I am going to leave this thread be until I here back from Scott and hopefully he has made some progress in Galveston with it all. With or without you or I the game will happen if it is meant to be. I just want to watch as a fan and maybe make a small sweat bet. Have a good day.

P.S. I am listening to your commentary right now and your very good.

The Diamond at Kolby's is the exact same table that was used for the finals of the Predator 10-ball Championship in Vegas in May.

And I think all diamonds play the same! Anyone could play on it for a few minutes and be totally adjusted to it.

There are also other diamonds in Phoenix, both personal and at another pool room.

In the olden times, when one challenged another to a duel, the "challengee"
(?) was given the choice of venue and weapon.

Mr. Frost apparently forgot this rule.
