Scott Frost bitten by black widow

A good friend of Scott Frost's just told me that Scott was bitten by a black widow. He is under emergency care and had a seizure last night. He has a MRSA infection in the leg and apparently it could be a life threatening condition and may require surgery.

The friend of Scott's said he just talked to him on the phone and got this information from him. This is all I know.

Whoa- our thoughts and prayers are with Scott.

(I was totally thinking this had something to do with Jeanette Lee)
 
African American Black Widow... hmmmm.

I googled it trying to learn about it... nothing of value or interest.

Anybody know about this spider?
 
Generally not fatal unless you have an allergic reaction to them.
 
For those who do not know what MRSA is here is a Link that explains what it is. Other half is a Nurse, and she say MRSA is a very bad thing to have. Only 1 or 2 Antibiotics can treat it.

AFAIK, no such spider by that name exists. :scratchhead: I'm thinking someone thought "black" widow wasn't PC and tried to proclaim a new name for it...

Forget about the spider. It is the MRSA you need to be afraid of. MSRA is a highly anti-biotic resistant infection. MRSA spreads fast, is difficult to get rid of and can return easily.
 
Could this be joke that may involve something with Jeanette Lee?

Usually when something starts with a firend of so and so it is not true.

If there is any truth to it the why doesn't the OP state who the good friend is?

Duh! It is no joke. The reason I never stated who the name of the good friend is because no one would know who he was anyway. A lot of people do know me and I wouldn't joke about someone having a life threatening condition. MRSA in the leg sometimes requires amputation of the leg. Wayne

Wayne are you sure it was a Black Widow Spider, and not a Brown Recluse that carry Necrotizing Fasciitis also know as the flesh eating disease, as when have Brown Recluse spiders in AZ.
 
Most people get it at the hospital but it's common in wrestling and grappling rooms as well. This is why they bleach the mats.

I was thinking the same thing. Brown Recluse is much more problematical.
Also generally not fatal but can reek havoc if not treated quickly and aggressively.
 
A Brown Recluse is only dangerous to the minority of people that have an allergic reaction. For most people, it's about like a bee sting.
 
As I said the other half is a nurse, and "Necrotizing Fasciitis" is very scary as it eat flesh, often requires amputation of the involved limb.
 
I can confirm the bite, MRSA and crazy leg infection. He showed up on crutches to the Desert Classic Tour event this past weekend and was unable to play. He showed me the infection and it was as bad as you can find online. We are all hoping that he is able to recover quickly as this is no joke.

He was staying at a friends house, felt a small bite mark the following day and was fine, 2 days later he couldn't walk, shocked his body, nerves and muscles were being attacked.

We all wish you the best Scott.

So Jerry per your sources is Scott in, or out of the Hospital the last you heard?
