Ok so I am not shocked that the top guns/ elites will win 1st round (since there are dead money) but I am shocked that there are so many thrashings and whitewashes.
15 matches won by top guys by 9-2 or less.
Of that 4 matches were whitewash 9-0
Frankly I have not seen so many thrashing /whitewashes before in any tourney. in 1 round. Maybe there are other tourneys with more thrashings in 1 round
Nevertheless great tourney and I love the brackets, scoring, updates and live stream.

MATCHES WON by 9-0/9-1/9-2
Robb Saez won 9-1
Mills 9-0
Immonen 9-1
Strickland 9-0
Archer 9-1
Jayson Shaw 9-2
John Morra 9-1
Mike Dechaine 9-0
SVB 9-0
J Sossei 9-1
Dennis Hatch 9-1
Hohmann 9-1
Lombardo 9-1
Brandon Shuff 9-2
Warren Kiamco 9-2

They must be seeding players!

Yes they are seeding players . Also be reminded of anytime you have lost 9 to 2 many times it could have been 9 to 5 or 6 . they are seeded and the difference between 9 2 and 9 6 is not always that much . however the cream usually rises to the top.

Yep, give the best players a couple of matches head start (seeded) on the rest of field. Makes sense to me. 9-0, 9-1, or 9-2...who wants to watch that? Most of the same guys going 0-2 or 1-2 and out every year. Most have not got a ball better in years, but still they come. Anyone ever tell them when you stop hitting your head against the wall it stops hurting,. Johnnyt

Johnnyt...You don't get it. There are LOTS of guys who play well, and just want a chance to play against the world's best. Same thing as Derby City. You can't pay to golf with PGA champions; you can't pay to play baseball, basketball, soccer, or football with the pros. With pool, you can...that's what it's all about. Just because you don't have the balls to "step up", don't begrudge those that do.

SEEDING..Good for the tourney...bad for the weaker players...never understood 'dead money' players. You get more out of watching good players than you do playing then and giving them your money.
$750 to play a world champ coming up at the U S Open 9 ball. Go to the pool room, they will rob you for a LOT less there!

Johnny,

I've played in many TS events over the years. Never saw Mike Z seed players. Are you sure your information is correct? See and Dominguez doesn't sound like a seeded match to me in the first round! Perhaps it's just luck of the draw at it's best?

Let's not forget that not only do the dead money players get a chance to play a pro, but on the Joss Tour, Mike has a second chance tournament on Sunday for the non-pro players. These non-pro players can only play on Sunday if they play the regular tourney. In my eyes, this is a great thing that Zuglan does for the lessor player.

Omg I wish I made our bet you not posting at all. You have to be one of the most negative posters on here. You literally make this forum a worse place.

If I were dead money playing Shaw, Shuff, or Kiamco and lost 9-2 I would be happy to tell everyone I knew about the time I beat that player 2 games. :) It is more games than anyone in this thread mocking the "dead money" have ever beat them.

I was surprised that Emily Duddy made it to the hill in her first match. At least Jennifer Barretta and Borana Andoni are still in it. I'd like to see either/both of them do well.
