Up hill both ways?

I wear Nike Air Force Ones. All white. Not every time but 90% of the time.

BVal

Yes, up hill both ways. Does anyone have an extra pair snowshoes they could spare?

this is a continuation from another thread, I thought it is an interesting topic, well for me atleast. I was asking about playing barefoot on the PI,
So I asked and I ws told people might look at me funny, I can handle that I play barefoot wheree ever i'm allowed too, I started after hours in an old pool room Boyce's after they closed til the sun came up, I realized then it's more comfortable and I play better, after I movet to Vegas i had to wear shoes to the pool room so I did I wouldnt disrespect the owner so used to have a old pair of Nike's with holes in the sole's, I wore them for pool for years til i wore them down to the socks, for some reason my shoes have awalys bothered me playing, that pair didnt, they made me look like i was homeless-I had new ones at home but the .5" in hight or the bouncyness of shoes throws me off, I have tried thin sole dress shoes and had no success there, flip flops are ok but I slide a bit in them and sometimes I have to get up and down to get them setteled right. I have tried the rubber ones they are worse.

I realize in a tournment ot would not be approiate to go bare foot to play, I wouldnt consider it, but during the years I played at home and after hours at some pool rooms I awalys play bare foot, the 2 rooms i play in now they let me play barefoot which is totally cool, my whole body feels connected whan I can feel the ground, my feet are like Efrens 1P game ...real strong. I like that feeling. Also with my back I dont have to bend down lower and that helps. I wouldnt on a busy night play barefoot as it wouldnt be polite and make the foom look bad but I play barefoot as often as possible.

I asked in the other thread if I could play like that in the PI and they said I might get laughed at(which is normal), which I can handle, besides I'm an easy target so i'm sure they wouldnt mind,

Some people play with a glove I tried that once and hated it, i have wet hands and that glove made my hand feel like they were fire, Earl uses finger extensions and who knows what else, we all have our preferance to make out selves feel comfortable to play our best, for me its no shoes.

What kind of footwear do you play with or does it matter to you?

Check out this older thread Pool Playing Shoes

I recently bought some "restaurant workers" shoes at Kmart. They have a lot of little square-like thingies on the sole that cling real well to the floor. I think they're designed for wet, slick floors. This helps when stretching over the table and having only one toe on the floor.

I've slipped before and fouled so this is why I choose these. And I'm cheap...they only cost $28.

But now my knees hurt when I play so I'm going back to my old shoes.

If you play in tournaments that have a dress code you should practice/play in those shoes. If you're always wearing Nikes or sandals and suddenly have to wear 'dress shoes' you are automatically out of your normal zone. Don't have to wear them ALL the time.. just a good idea to get comfy in them. It helps to buy comfy 'dress' shoes. Sketchers make some nice dress casual shoes that wear like tennis shoes. But I do like Air Force 1s. :D

I call em Ricos

$5.00 black canvass top shoes from K-Mart. I call em Ricos. Ugly as
sh!t , but I'm one with the floor!!! :D

Skate shoes are by far the best.

I can play for hours and hours and hours without even thinking about the comfort of my feet because I wear skate shoes. I often wear the same pair of shoes whenever I shoot pool regardless of what pair of shoes I was wearing during the rest of the day... because I'm used to them.

Skate shoes... definitely.

If I'm only playing for a couple hours, it makes no difference whatsoever what shoes I'm wearing. If it's gonna be a marathon session, the shoes make all the difference in the world towards the end of the night.

I used to skate before my knee surgery, and I definately agree that skate shoes are by far the most comfortable shoes money can buy. My DC's are life savers for marathon pool sessions.

Watched Pete Glenn for years, he would come into the Golden Eight Ball dressed in slacks and dress shoes. Would get set up to play, would open his gym bag, take off the dress shoes and put on tennis shoes - white ones. And then proceed to beat anyone and everyone.

New Balance walking shoes. I have BAD feet and NB are THE BEST I've found for my particular problem.

What about just socks?

Same here New Balance sneak & I can play pretty good in my old work boots (heels are worn off) throw on a brand new pair of Thorlos and I feel like I can play for days

I use padded socks, designed for mailmen and basketball shoes which have the middle of the sole hollowed out so that they give. I also have some anti fatigue mats around my table. Very comfortable, I used to have to quit playing after a while because of my feet but I don't even think about my feet now.

The last time he was in town he was trying to sell some "barely used" dress shoes. They looked like the soles were a few steps shy of being worn completely through. There was also a "barely used" leather jacket to go with the shoes.

I've been skateboarding for 20 years, and next to 310's,
skate shoes are the most comfortable, followed by some
real cushy baskteball shoes.

Can't forget about Dr. Marten either.

Good walking shoes are my favorites. Like Rockports, SAS or Dr. Scholl's. I can tell you sandals are not the ticket. Like Fatboy, I like playing in socks, did it many times.

Mr. Fatboy----------
I play in Dockers or roper boots. However my wife of 35 years is a bit different, she is from Oklahoma and plays bare-footed. Says she can get a better grip on the carpet with her toes on shots she has to shoot hard on.

cheers------------BW

Preferably my red adidas flip-flops....clothing wise - i prefer a polo shirt and my old timberland khaki cargo shorts. Perfect combo for me.
