To keep this "pool related", many in our great sport like to partake of assorted varities of alcoholic beverages when they are out shooting.
Although I personally don't drink, I have many friends who do. After watching this video, maybe somebody will end up saving a life. There is no pool shooting in this video.

Have a Safe and Happy New Year everybody!

This is so true Terry. It was just 2 years ago that my wife's 17yr old little brother was lost in an alcohol related accident. Wasn't even his fault...simply a passenger on the wrong highway at the wrong time.
Everyone be safe this New Years Eve...and every night on the way home from the pool room.

Thanks for sharing that Terry, I am a big advocate AGAINST driving drunk, I too have lost someone to an alcohol related accident. There is no place for it.

if you've had one or two and they try to pull you over the best bet is to try to out run 'em.

drive like hell and don't let 'em take you alive!

I never have a beer, wine, or hard drink in any bar playing pool or not playing pool. Its just not worth getting behind a wheel when you have been drinking. Even a beer or two you shouldn't drive because then it will be 2 or 3 beers then 4 or 5 and then your drunk behind the wheel.

Driving drunk or loaded is a very selfish thing to do. You have no consideration for others and their safety. I hope they make even stiffer penalities for drunk drivers since too many people have been killed or injured when it can be prevented.

Very powerful video...thanks for posting it Terry. Designated drivers are good people. I'm diabetic...too many carbs in booze for me to bother with the stuff anymore. Guess that means I'm always the designated wheelman.

I am recently sober and I should have seen this video when I got my license. Actually, everyone should see this when they get there license and once a year until 25. I will be honest and say that I have way too many years driving intoxicated under my belt. I'm not proud at all, just being honest. This video brought a tear to my eyes. Thanks for posting it.

drinking and driving is about as dangerous as driving while tired. there're bigger problems than drinking and driving

conundrum

As a former drunk( not an alcoholic, alcoholics go to meetings) thus an expert on this subject; The decision to drive or not to drive was made by people who were not in any condition to make the decision. Solve that problem and you can save lives.:(

Wow, that is one powerful video.....Leave it to the europeans to be so blunt with there advertising. maybe we should try the same type of advertising to get the point accross !

My wife and i lost a very dear freind to a drunk driver several years ago, and it is no joke.

he only got 7 years for taking a life, and he got off in 5 for good behavior. good thing he got deported or else i would hunt him down and yoke him.....

Terry, with you 100%.....drinking and driving is a great way to ruin the way of life for you, your family, and somone you don't even know, and their family....

Something I consider related - went home for the holidays. My Mom told me about a local coach who was headed to meet his family, one of his kids was in a play or something. Anyway, as he was going around a corner, he was texting back and forth with his wife - he hit another truck head on. Both individuals were killed on impact - the other guy he hit had his 3 girls with him, they are still hospitalized.

Most cars are 3-4,000 pounds, and some trucks weigh over 8,000 pounds....the car is not a place to be multitasking....please don't drink and drive, nor text and drive, nor put on makeup, or read a novel....pay attention to the road....

wow.

Powerful video, some of the hit and crash effects were very real looking. I've seen someone get hit by a car before and they limp roll just like that. Very disturbing.

i saw my buddy get hit by a car a long time ago. he went limp and flew 40ish feet. it was pretty crazy! he had brain surgery and a collapsed lung. it took him a few months to get healed up

the driver was sober and ran a red light, the insurance paid off fat so i guess it all worked out

Very nice Terry, I was going to post that video in the NPR section tomorrow myself. It's a real eye opener & a very powerful video.

Too bad most people in the US really don't care, or don't see it as a problem. I'd bet they'd change their minds if that was their mother/wife/child dead on the street because of a drunk driver. :frown:

Around here I don't think the police care about DUI offenders very much. Seems they just make them pick up trash on the side of the road on the weekends.

Free burial if you do.......

If you are stubborn enough to drive under the influence, a funeral home in Georgia would like to accommodate you. /www.accessatlanta.com/celebrities-tv/funeral-home-offers-drunk-261206.html

Have fun at the pool hall or where ever you choose to bring in the New Year, but please be safe!

Thanks for sharing Terry!

I know it has already been said, but WOW! a very powerful video. I too confess to having driven while intoxicated in my younger days, I am so thankful that i was one of the lucky ones who didnt get hurt or hurt someone else. i have since stopped driving when drinking, i am now so very lucky to have a wife who does not drink but is perfectly happy to drive me to league night or to the local bar on fridays and then drive my silly ass back home.

Thanks Terry for a very timely reminder! Reps to you Sir.
