Hi there,
Let me invite you to my website (http://www.triplecrosscues.com). Maybe something there that is already available will spark an interest in you. If you have questions about modifications or prices a personal email to my web address is all you have to do. I won't take any more of your time here. Hope to hear from you soon. I'll be at the Expo in March if you would like to try one of my cues.
Tom Gedris, Triple Cross Cues

I also would add Mike Webb to the list. He has an extreme sense of personal pride in his work and will not accept anything less than excellence. He made a cue for my friend (beautiful Purple heart with figured maple points and leather wrap). It was a fantastic playing cue, but developed a little rattle in the joint. He took the cue back and essentially rebuilt the whole thing. When she got the cue back, it was twice as good. Amazingly the playability went way up. I don't know what he did, but it was fantastic.

Barry Cameron has always been great to work with and he makes a great hitting and great looking cue too.

I'll second Barry Cameron.... Had mine in 4mo and playability is great.

With all due respect for the guys mentioned above. but I got more options for you.

1- Mike Gulyassy - a great guy, he creates not only the best J/B cues out there, but also a really nice playing cue which i've tried personally and they are solid and shots really nice. He is a member of this forums.

2- Varney - He has a great rep. good guy, and also he does a really really nice cues. he is also a member of this forums aswell.

best of luck in your choice.

One person I am definitely surprised no one has mentioned is Tim Scruggs. He was definitely the front-runner in my mind when I started this thread, but now I seem to have a ton of options... wow. I'm still thinking Scruggs but am a bit concerned no one mentioned him.

Check out johnmaddencues.com. He's also an AZB member. A very classy
web site, and makes a solid cue.

Another Great Builder . . .

Doug Patrick . . . makes one of the best all around playing cues I've ever picked up . . . he's a forum member . . . very reasonable and about 8 wks leadtime last I spoke with him . . . here's his website and a sneaky he built for me - AWESOME hitting cue!

I don't think you said how much money you were looking to spend? If it is at least 2K, I would high suggest calling Ernie about a Ginacue. His turn-around can be 4 months and seldom longer than 6, depending on where he is in his cycle when you order (as an aside, he is days away from finishing my new 11D and about 6 other cues, so now is a great time to order as he builds in small batches for efficiency). His quality and reputation are of the highest order, and very important in a cue builder, he doesn't over-promise. His cues have hit great for more than 40 years. There is nobody else working with him, every cue out of that shop is 100% made by Ernie. Ernie is the King IMO.

No concerns there at all. One of the nicest cuemakers alive, and does some of the best work out there.

Mike Webb & Barry Cameron are excellent choices,I'd also add another forum member you should seriously consider. Brent Hartmen (BHQ) makes an excellent cue.

If you are looking for something in my opinion even better than Southwest or within that area look into a Jeff Olney.

Sorry to burst any bubbles but Jeff has a wait list of approx 4 years.

I can't imagine 2 nicer people to work with than Keith & Sherri Josey. Keith makes an awesome cue too!

Truth is .. you ain't gonna be hurting for a list of "qualified" cue makers these days. There are many cue makers to choose from.

From my experience, people that do great work, provide timely communication and meet timeline are Michael Webb, Barry Cameron and Keith Josey. I'm sure there are others but I don't have experience with them.

Custom cue in <12 months

A lot of the top cue makers have waiting lists longer than 12 months, but Keith Josey can build you a cue in less than 12 months and he's one of the nicest cue makers in the cue business.

Endless amount of great cuemakers

I think your issue is more with who you "think" is on par with Searing, Szamboti, Hercek ....etc (Guys with a lengthy list) ... and that is tough. There are several great cuemakers with short waiting list, but for one reason or another there cues are not held to the same value as the others or they are willing to produce more product than the ones mentioned above.

My recommendation is always to try out as many cues as possible and start to call cuemakers and see if they can suit your timeline and request. You have already been told about some great cuemakers so no need to add to the list and cause more confusion.

Good luck and remember sometimes you can find what you want with no wait b/c someone is eager to sell.
