Should I have been BARRED FOR LIFE here?

grew up in NC

Hey man ,
I grew up in NC and if you don't learn how to act it may get worse for you
than getting banned from a pool hall ......he hee hee . Now that was funny
Seriously though sometimes we just have to fess up and say ya know I
was wrong and I was being an ass or whatever . I used to loose my cool
a bit much in the past and a old school teacher of mine made me promise
that I would always go back and apologize when I lost my cool .It did not make sense at the time but after a while I got real tired of going back and
telling folks I was sorry for being a ..........ya know . So slowly I learned
how to act and not re-act . Hope this helps .

I only stiffed him for the time AFTER he barred me for life. If I did it before, then I deserved to be barred. You guys need to read the entire post before blabbing on ridiculously about something that happened out of sequence. I WOULD HAVE PAID THE TIME IF HE DIDN'T BARR ME FIRST. Jesus Christ. cueandcushion, you are by far the biggest offender. Read the whole damn post first, people. Please.

I read your whole post and this whole post and your response to Supergreenman's post.
It doesn't matter when you were barred or that the room owner didn't extend a special priviledge (staying after hours) to you. You used the table you owe the time period. What's right is right, and you were wrong not to pay it's theft. You are probably lucky the cops weren't called and you weren't charged with theft or terroristic threats. If you're getting so hacked by people telling you you were wrong here, then I can only imagine how you treated the room owner. I would have banned you too.

Gee, I played a kid one time giving him the 7 and the break on a 9 footer, we broke even. Played one more set for $400, giving him the 7, 8, and break (he had plenty of money, I saw it). Went hill-to-hill, said he had to go to the bathroom, and left his cue on the table, so I said okay to myself, but was going to keep an eye out. He ran out the front door, the cue was 'rented' from the Pool room (I didn't even know they did that), and their was $26.00 in Table time, so I ended up paying $26 + $6 for cue rental, and did not get my $400 (EVER, I might add).

Pay the damn table time, you OWE IT regardless.

supergreenman, what a douchebag you are. He cut me off when he would have let any other regular play until at least 3 or 4 in the morning. I wasn't going to let him humiliate me in front of the remaining people in the room with his ridiculous tirade, and then give him the satisfaction of me paying the time. I'm not a weakling with no self-respect like a lot of people on here who would have given him the cash. I stood up for myself when he was being a ***** to me, like he had been doing for weeks. So screw Roger, supergreenman the douchebag, and any other weak clown who would take Roger's shit and then pay him the time.
Based on this post alone, I think you should have been barred for life. You are obviously placing your right to play above the owners right to close his business. Remember, regardless of the time, he has the right to close for the day.
You are lucky he didn't file charges or, worse, get a few guys together to teach you some manners.
I hope you find a new pool room to play and I surely hope you treat the owner/management much better than you have in the past.

Your words speak volumes MaskedMan, I couldn't possibly add anything to make you look like more of an idiot than you already are.

Yeah he probably owes table time, and yeah judging by his temperment here he probably should have been banned, but it was the room owners' fault for not getting the table time before he banned him. Honestly, how many of you would actually pay the table time AFTER you got booted for life? Not this cat.

Just call me "breakup the weak douchebag clown" that would pay the time he owes.

Yeah he probably owes table time

Great post,

Everytime that I have had to ban anyone or any whole group of players at my room, I was just glad to get them out of the room, and said the time is on me, no problem for me that way.
And it is a small loss compared to the bull++++ I have had to deal with from these people. You really have to mess up before I finally ban you.

I announce im closing 15 minutes before closing and tell them not to start anything they cant finish by closing time cause im out on time. and someone will always try to get in another game. NOT!!!!!!!!

All you have to do is work the counter for a day and you will know the deal.

Here's the problem. You are trying to get people to believe that you got banned from a pool room for absolutely no reason. People suspect that there is another side to the story, because it doesn't make sense for a business to ban a paying customer for no reason.

When you are getting banned from a pool room you need to step back and take a look in the mirror.

Been thrown out of better places than this!

I got the feeling this ain't the first place you been thrown out of.
My guess is the other guy paid off the owner to shut it down.
How does that sit in your craw! You ended up blowing up and got yourself booted. I hope you don't do the same here. it

"what would YOU do if you were cut off in the middle of a set?"

Pay my table time and leave quietly, like a gentleman.

Did you mention that you guys just started the set to that guy? If not next time i recommend that you do. That way you can decide on continuing the set. I will admit it was an asshole thing to do but you were robbing this guy and in his mind he was probably more pissed off because now he has no chance of winning any money back. You shouldn't have gotten pissed because obviously the guy will play you again because you have his money and you wil also be taken the barkeeps action from him too.

kicked out and dumb

You should of said to your pigeon that you would catch the table time this time around, and walked away with a little money in your pocket. Next time you met, he would love to play some more, maybe even for a little more money. You gotta feed the pigeons now and then or they won't come back... Like in a bar...buy a few drinks for the fans and you can win money all night long.

Pretty much it sounds like it was just a personal thing and you probably would of got barred for anything in due time. Honestly, Depending on what he said to offend you, I may not have paid the time either after being barred for life. Blah, Blah, He's the owner and he can do anything he wants. I think barred for LIFE over an arguement is out of line. If it escalated to the point of fighting then he may not be wrong for the barred thing, But if it was just an arguement over a disagreement then barred for life was simply a personal thing and not a business decision. But hey, What the hell do i know? Just an opinion.

P.S.

Right or wrong all any of us can give is an opinion. Nobody knows the whole story for sure.

Sometimes you only need one side of the story

Normally you are right that we need both sides of a story to judge. However sometimes somebody sinks their own ship with their posts. I suspect that "life" isn't likely to mean natural life however I also suspect banning the masked man was simply a smart business decision.

Let him stay when he is banging heads with the other regulars by his own report and you will lose other customers. He is also banging heads with the owner, and not just that night. Bottom line the owner doesn't need the headache or the lost business that masked man will cause judging by his past actions.

True, But it sounded to me he wasn't getting along with anyone because of this new owner. Obviously something has happened between these two in the past and they both held it personal. This new owner staying open until 3am or 4am with other regulars says it all. Atleast it does to me. Like I said nobody knows for sure.

My last night in Hagerstown, MD, at Hagerstown Billiards, I was asked to play some cheap 9-ball sets by a much lesser player who didn't know I played a lot better than him. I will repeat, I was ASKED. Well, I beat him until he quit, and then his friend wanted to play, so I played and beat him also. They were both pretty bad, but the first guy was an idiot with an attitude problem and a cocky air about him, so I layed down pretty fierce. Since I couldn't just drill his buddy, I layed down during those sets also.

Now, there's also an interesting situation with the clown who was working the front desk. He was in the middle of buying the business, and we used to kind of get along. Not good buddies, but it was tolerable. Well, the deskman, Roger, decided to be a douchebag to me because we had gotten into it over very trivial things in the recent past. So, in my last several visits to the pool room before I moved to North Carolina, there was an obvious tension between him and I. Actually, the other regulars and I were also not getting along with each other very well. When I first started playing, they pretty much robbed me, so I got better, didn't let them know about it, and then proceeded to rob them back as much as I could. Naturally, it was a recipe for disaster.

Anyway, Roger was constantly ragging on me and saying some very disgusting and innappropriate things to me. I usually let it go, but I started standing up for myself and fired insults right back at him. Flash forward back to the night in question. I'm playing the second guy, and Roger says he's closing at two. Well, it's ten till two when he says it, but we had already started another set before he said anything. I'm beating this guy 3 to 0 in a race to 4, and as the last game is being racked, Roger the douchebag says, "Don't even rack the balls, we're leaving now." HE CUT ME OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF THE SET. He has never cut off anyone in the middle of a set. Many pool room owners have told me it's a cardinal sin to do so. He did it to me because we didn't get along.

Well, I don't get payed for the last set naturally, and Roger and I get into a heated argument, at which point he barrs me for life. That's fine. But then he has the balls to ask me to pay table time! What a joke. I told him to screw himself. By the by, I think he was also pissed because I was robbing the guys that he usually robs.

Sorry for the long post, but what would YOU do if you were cut off in the middle of a set? Mind you, we started playing that set before he said anything about closing, and he stays open for regulars sometimes until 3 or 4 in the morning, so the time on the clock means almost nothing. What would you do here?

You just seem pretty dumb too me. Just my opinion though.

Best case scenario....When one person tells you 100% of the truth in a very accurate, completely objective way...It means you now know 50% of what happened.

YO!!!! MASKED MAN!!!!! TWO WRONGS DON'T MAKE A RIGHT!!!!!!

In this place we live called the civilization we have to live by laws, that all men can abide by, so whether the room owner "DISSED" you or not you still owe him for services rendered. Day's were simpler when if a man disrespected you, quite simply he got delt with. If your from the Hood, or Just in the Know, I know you know what I'm Spittin at You. But, I'm telling that this isn't the way to deal. So I feel you and what your saying, but reguardless it's his business he has the right to do what he please's. And last but not least as long as you have RESPECT FOR YOURSELF IT DOESN'T MATTER WHAT ANY MAN HAS TO SAY ABOUT YOU! Next time you roll through that way hit that man up and pay what is due, if people sit down and talk more then we'd have alot less issue's in this world.

I hope the message reaches you in more way's than one.

Black, White, Yellow, or Brown Peace to you my BROTHER.
