Should there be full disclosure in PPV matches?

I wholeheartedly agree with your post.

Side bets don't need to be disclosed to a PPV viewer or as a means to advertise. What needs to be disclosed is IF a match is touted as 10k a man and is really just an exhibition with a jelly to the winner.

What is the difference between a challenge match that is advertised as $20,000 but is really for a much smaller amount, and a match that is advertised as $20,000 but has behind-the-scenes backers that means the players are playing for a much smaller amount of their own money?

The difference is simply telling the truth about what is being sold to viewers.

The truth is...if the amount involves 3 zeros or more and a pool player then truth or full disclosure are most often not words that should be used together. Add a guy like French and you have a big pocket billiard Ponzi scheme

Truth in advertising

I agree with all the previous threads and posters:

IT MAKES A DIFFERENCE!!!!

All you have is your word and your ethics. By intentionally misleading the public (for PPV or any reason) is fraud. It will ruin this type of format. What is to gained?

CSI has had some exhibition matches in conjunction with our nationals (Ko vs SVB plus others) - but it was clearly stated. And there ended up being a substantial amount being bet on the side.

I was affiliated with TAR. We never played these type of games - because it is dishonest. I don't know about you, but it'll make a difference to me on how I respect a player if he par takes in any misleading matches.

BTW - John Mars often puts SVB in these type of matches. If he is involved, it is absolutely 100% straight.

That's my thoughts on this stuff. I know I don't like the way it looks, feels, or smells. And if it's 'no big deal' - then let the world know they are playing for less. It's the right thing to do.

I played a big money match last night. here is the proof. We put all the money we were playing for in a picture and so you must believe me now.

That's just a flash roll.

Not sure what the foreign currency is, but if those are all Benjamins...... thats over 44.6 million. Yes, I did the math...... LOL

So its a flash roll for the power ball winner is what you meant to say....... :thumbup:

They lie. I just recounted, its just over 41 million US (counted 12 deep the first time, but its 11), like I say..... whatever the foreign currency I dont know.

The tall stacks are 10 racks high for reference

35x11x100000=38,500,000
17x80000=1,360,000
18x70000=1,260,000
Total, 41,120,000

Trust me, thats how bored I am...... LOL

edit: read the story, that 207 million figure is what they busted him with. The picture is light........ ;)

Damn!

I hate when people have to exaggerate cause they want things to look better. The world is full of liars.
