Show us your HOME ROOMS !!

IMG_0566.jpgA work in progress:)

This was my room in Ohio. Sold that house two years ago. Built the whole house from scratch. The pool room started out as a three car garage but that went by the boards when I got my 20 year old table back from one of my kids. After it was completed my friends got a sign that said, "Joe's Booze, books and Billiards." I did make cabinet doors for the bar and the bottom of the bookshelves after these pictures were taken.

Now I am retired and living in an active retirement community where we have four Gold Crown IIIs in one room. That is part of the reason I moved here.

It has a very cozy/comfortable look. very very nice. especially like the bar area

here are some pics of my room. sorry about the quality of the pictures; i'm about as dangerous with an iphone camera as i am with a cue in my hand. haha

Nice room. Please tell us about the cues you have mounted above the door...

Looks interesting! Those aren't Bushka's are they?

A Work in Progress...

While we've lived in this house for just over a year, there were a lot of things that really took priority over finishing the pool room. The shop, for example... If I didn't get it finished, I couldn't afford to play pool!!!

So, here's what it is so far...
bnroom1.jpg

When you first walk in, an oak table for sitting, coffee, poker, whatever... A small TV against the wall that I use in video analysis when I have students, then the extra long sofa and big chair. Low to the ground, but comfortable.

bnroom2.jpg

A little farther in and you can see the Fischer 4 1/2 X 9 table (super tight pockets, with the corners at just a little shy of 4 3/8" at 142° angles and 12° undercut with moderately deep shelves), along with an old dresser that I keep "supplies" in, a CD Player in the corner and a few trophies from days gone by.

bnroom3.jpg

This wall looks bare, but it won't be for long. As soon as I get back from Derby City, I'm finishing out a 12 foot long bench that goes there. The bench, similar to a church pew, will sit on top of a 12" raised box and will have arm rests on each end and in the middle to hold drinks and cues. The old sofa on the other side of the room is nice, but this will allow guests a better view of the games (and yes, we'll play ring games here on a regular basis). A few pictures on the wall, but there will be MANY more after Derby City.

Looking along the wall where the bench will go, you can see the cue rack that I made... just mounted it last night. More plaques and another picture. Around the corner to the right are the bathroom and my office.

This is my cue rack. I built this from poplar and stained it walnut to match the pool table. It holds part of a set of old clay balls that I've just had in a box for years, along with my "Stooges" pool room poster and an old "Fischer Pool Table, Co." promotional cigarette lighter that I found to go along with the Fischer table.

Well, that's all there is for now, but as I said, this is a work in progress. I changes every month and hopefully, but late spring I'll have it just like I want it.

Yeah, don't like the ceiling fans being in the room, but do have to answer to the boss lady and she does NOT want them out! However, the switch for those ceiling fans is OFF when the pool table light switch is ON, so no problem for me.

Here is the remodeled basement of the old crackerbox home i grew up in. I had brick-like paneling installed. The Gold Crown IV with Tournament Blue 860 was installed yesterday. The table light was installed and wired this morning. Working out pretty good so far. The light is 34" above the playing surface. That was, unfortunately, about the best we could do.

Wish I had enough room for a bigger table. My flooring came in over the weekend once that is installed its time to call the mechanic.

Let me apologize in advance for the bad quality of this picture, but I'm working from my phone.

Anyway, I've posted an older picture of my room here before, but just got this new phone with a panoramic feature. First time I've used it. Here's about a 180 degree view.

Let me apologize in advance for not getting this picture oriented properly, but I'm working from my phone.

This room is GORGEOUS!!! I love the style and that table looks super!! That's my favorite table and it's right at home in that environment. Thanks for sharing.

Here's a little pic of my home pool room.

After seeing so many nice rooms, I thought I would share a pic of my little slice of happiness at home.

Thank you for the compliment trob.

It's a Brunswick, Windsor. I bought it about a year ago new from the local dealer. It's a 4 1/2' x 9' with molded leather drop pockets and has some nice burl woods that match the other furniture in the house. It plays well with lively rails and fast cloth.
