I have a question.

Why are they called Shurtz cues?

Bob Owen builds them. He makes a great cue and seems like a sane guy in the insane world of pool.

Secondly, I thought he had told me he built a cue for Gabe after he won the Open. Did he ever display it?

Gabe seems like a great kid, Bob seems like he did a good job with him too..

Great looking cues, all three. I like the wrapless with the maple windows best. I'll bet you won't be bringing them back with you.

Shurtz

Show off. Won't be the same not being aside you, but watch your back, I'm on the other side of the divider. Oh yeah, great looking cues.(As always)

Looking good Bob, I love those veneer trim rings. See ya at SBE. Martin

Shurtz Customs

Bob,
As Expected,
Those cues look GREAT!
I hope You do well at SBE,
I just saw Jack at Magoos this past weekend,
He was recovering some of the big tables, and recovered all of the small
Diamond tables.
"Some nice events coming to Tulsa,
I hope You can make it down.
I see A little on Gabe winning some tourneys,
AND Magoos put on the Big Screen TV that One-pocket match He Played against Tony.

I purchased a Shurtz from Bob in 07 it is a great cue and his customer satisfaction was great as he did a re-finish for me.

Those venners and ringwork really stand out on those beautiful cues!
Great work Bob

the ebony one with the maple handle, points and windows may be my favorite cue (looks-wise) that I've ever seen on this site!!!! How much?

as i understand bob owen is helping jack shurtz build the shurtz cues which are great playing cues, but bob owen is making another line of absolutely fabulous cues with razor sharp points and sharp pointed inlays that are second to none in qulity
i had lunch with dennis glenn, the well known balabushka and szamboti collector who has around 350 cues from all the great cuemakers.i took my new bob owen cue and showed dennis how the top veneers met about 1 inch above the wrap coming into a single veneer and i asked dennis one question"will you show me any difference between this cue and the best work you have ever seen" dennis said i can't show you anything'why do you think i've been buying them for the collection?"

if you want to buy tomorrows Balabushka at a price you can afford and actually get the cue in a reasonable time, then you better call bob owen before its too late, you will not be disappointed

Great looking cues...

These really look like outstanding workmanship. I also believe you won't be bringing them home with you from the SBE.
