To the person that said that mika is becoming the next earl strickland.... you sir are so very right.
Mika is just a bit testy-nowhere near Earl. And he isnt becoming anything. He has been the same the last 10 years (minimum).

You might look at Mika not calling the ref. a catch 22. If he does he's sharking. But not doing so could turn out to make him a cry baby. But I feel by not shaking hands after the match makes him a jerk. Bottom line all of these decisions where made by Mika.![]()
Personally I don't think its a catch 22. If the shot in question needed a ref I'm sure Mike would have called one. If the tables were turned and Mike didn't call a ref I would think the same thing if. Honesty in pool is rare, that's why there are referee's... use them!
Was this a TV-table match? Is there a recording?... the shot was questionable...

I see two problems with this kind of situation. The first is that there should be a referee on each table, full-time. That is a failing of the tournament organization. The second is that the players for the most part don't know the current rules. Sigel has played in World Championships in which hitting the cue ball twice on a stroke was not a foul -- perhaps he isn't familiar with the recent changes which now forbid that shot.
Mike would never call a ref over to look at his own shot.
But what I do not understand is how not having a referee call the shot makes up for ignoring your own fault and just continuing?
It sound to me like a few of you are basically telling me that it's poorer sportsmanship to complain than it is to cheat.
Anyway, regardless, I do agree that he should have called the ref.
It was at best controversial whether or not it was a foul. IMO it was not a foul, but even if you thought it was there was no ref to call it and Sigel intentionally shot the shot the way he did knowing full well how the cueball would behave. He shot down on the cueball (not straight through the cueball) and after contact the cueball went forward approximately six inches.
Sigel went on shooting just like he would after any normal shot, so I think it is very unlikely that he simply "ignored his own fault" as you say.
Mika did not say anything immediately after the shot, by the way. Mike had taken at least one more shot that I recall and maybe more before Mika started talking to him and saying it was a foul.
Agreed, This is typical Mika. Anyone who beats him is my hero. JMONot the first time Mika has acted like a child. It's up to Mika to call for a ref. His mistake. Not shaking your opponents hand is classless.
I didn't see it as a foul either. It was a simple little pop shot. Also curious as to how much if any Mika even saw of the shot seeing as how he was sitting behind Mike on the shot. Maybe Mika was boiling over from his lousy shot that he missed after the 8th or 9th ball he made. I can somewhat understand there not being refs on every table, but why do they always seem to have to wait forever to find one and for one to come over. Also Danny's rambling about what Mike said supposedly to Mika is questionable too. Can he even hear what the co-announcer next to him is saying?!
