So Skyler got drug tested immediately after losing to Oi???

Banned for something that is legal in a vast number of places (and probably negatively impacts performance), and something that is prescribed... What a joke lol
I agree. But bring it up with the IOC, not pool promoters. They are the ones that come up with the lists. Even coffee in high amounts can cause a ban.

I suppose if we never went after the Olympics, we'd probably not have drug testing today. I highly doubt any pool specific promoter would have ever bothered.

A separate, independent company is contracted to do the testing. The WPA and tournament organizers have no say in who is tested. I think 4 out of the final 16 are typically tested. I think this procedure makes a great deal of sense if testing is to be done.

As for
And the Prohibited List looks like it's missing a few substances that are frequently used by pool players.
If there are any additions to the banned list in the next revision, we'll know who to blame. ;)

Random Testing = Targeted Discrimination

Why not make the drug testing standard? It would be the commitment to avoid drugs to be on tour. Test Together, this way every can complain testing is problematic and need updating.

Emily would love if the players did that on their own for the good of the sport and the good of the future.

Fight for pool freedoms and more player rights.
The WPA is not liberal at all.

Doesn't matter. The field of participants is a relatively small group and easily typed by whosoever has the data.

I do think if they random one guy, that should branch out to at least the other guy in the match and maybe the whole trunk that interacted in battle. That gives a pretty clear picture of stupid.

Between the bathroom breaks and apparently calling a foul on him for moving the cue ball before the lag because he was bumping into his opponent they were f$%$%^$^ with him all week and I’m not sure why.

Only the guilty know for sure.

It’s funny to blame Matchroom for a Predator/WPA event. This is the WPA World 10-ball Championship. “WPA” = “Olympic Affiliation”. All Olympic sports are required to do random drug tests. The point is for people to pass them. Sky got some bad rolls with stupid referees this event. But this one thing is going to happen to every pro in a WPA event sooner or later. They randomly draw like 4 at the final 16. It’s a sign he did well to get so deep for it to be a possibility. Don’t get me wrong. WPA brings some bureaucratic baggage with their drug testing. Just look at Billy’s situation a few years back. I’m not defending their merits. Just acknowledging Sky was very clearly not singled out no matter how much it would appear so.

The errors are almost as annoying as all the pitchfork waving. Two wrongs don't make a right.

I've read this entire thread, and I guess I must have missed it. Sky was drug-tested. Okay. Did he pass the test?

i assume he did, the matter was (again) the situation: immediately after a tough loss. was the same thing with darren some years ago, he had just lost 11-10 to filler and just as he had endured the latter's celebratory shouts he had to do the test.

i don't know if there's a better way. sometimes a losing player will leave the venue in haste.

They sign contracts agreeing to testing if they play WPA events like Predator

They have nothing to complain about....unless the random isn't random and they are being targeted.
Then even if you were...
What are your damages?

They definitely need to pull him aside. They did it right in front if his crew who had video going....that's sloppy

what advantage does a player who smoked a joint have? Performance enhancing in pool, come on. This aint cycling.

I assume if a player is on one of these many common medications due to doctors orders, it is just fine? Does the player need a doctors note?

Probably so, but they also have drugs on there that really don't do anything to enhance performance but are common medications prescribed by GP's and Internal Medicine docs for high blood pressure. Atenolol and Metoprolol. I know some
individuals who take the drugs and it does nothing in the way of reactions to them.

Atenolol is a beta blocker medicine, used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) and irregular heartbeats (arrhythmia). If you have high blood pressure, taking atenolol helps prevent future heart disease, heart attacks and strokes. It can also be used to prevent chest pain caused by angina.
Metoprolol is worded the same way.

So, if a doctor prescribes either one of those two common drugs for an ongoing blood pressure problem, these dipshits and their rules get to say, you're disqualified, can't play, or the money you earned in the tournament is rescinded?
