Someone Loan Me $50,000 Right Away...Tom Cruise's Actual Cue For Sale on the Bay!

LOL! This is some funny sh^t! Looks like a players cue or maybe the mcdermott wildlife series lol! He even has a backstory on how the cue was purchased lol!

I know all this stuff is funny...but have you ever thought what would happen if..."if" someone actually bought the cue? who would get the last laugh? if the cue isn't the real thing from the movie? the buyer will get scammed and we as pool players of this great nation will allow this action unchecked... we are going to get an unsuspecting stranger get hustled for a cue............

ol well as long as it's not us spending 50k right?

What is he doing wrong? Isn't he doing the same thing Wal mart Kmart and every other multi national chain does...

"Lie until they believe it." They teach this in colleges today.

Isn't this the most common form of marketing today.

To this day no one does tropical fish inlays like Balabushka.

That's AwEsOmE..!! LOL

But of course...He should have mentioned that in his listing along with the fact that the cue was originally inspired by Herman Rambow's childhood love of sea monkeys.

I would only give him half of his asking price. He clearly states there's a ging in it. I'm trying to get a hold of Mrs. Newman to see if her son hit it on a lamp before I bid. The guy said he'd throw in a case made out of the skin of the rare and endangered albino humpbacked three toed spider goat from the caves of the West Indies or he'd sell the case separate for $17. :)

WOW, just wow. This is the weakest scam I've ever seen. I mean, really. Fish? Really? LO-freaking-L. I hope this seller is prosecuted.

not real

the fish cue was the stunt double for the trirl scenes the actual film cue had a small hard to see octopus on the butt.

I didn't say you had to buy it, just mentioned that you could. Particularly since you are pondering the purchase of this historical cue. I my self would rather have the table. It's more versitle.

I posted a question to him through ebay

I could not resist. I posted this question for him

Dear lowell622,

Are you nuts? The cue used in the movie was a Joss cue, that does not even look a little bit like this cheap imported cue. This has to be a joke. You can't be serious.

I got a response from him-

It was an honest mistake. Newman did out it up at auction but it's clearly not the one from the move, I've pulled the listing

I hope I did not ruin anyone's chances of buying this historical cue!

I was a little more tactful when I contacted him but I got a similar response and an apology for the mistake. I don't think he was trying to scam anyone. He was just given bad info from the guy he got it from.

I agree

He wrote me this similar response:

"Dear Bxxxf,

Clearly I was wring. It was out up by Newman at auction, but clearly it's not from the movie. I've pulled the listing

- lowell622"

The end.

Best,
Brian kc

who knows?
silly aint it
i'd buy it ,
but he will not accept my check from the NAIROBI branch of PNC bank
c;mon , BHQ , that's not even right. Hunter posts trying to borrow $50K so he can buy it himself , and you try to slip past him and buy it for yourself .
shame on you for being a buddyf_ _ker .

You're all letting a piece of potential history slip by here. No, this isn't the counterfeit 'Balabushka'/Joss N7 from Color of Money. But I'm sure this was donated to charity by Paul Newman - and may have a notarized certificate of authenticity somewhere , just misplaced - because this is clearly the original 'Fast Eddie' cue from The Hustler! Misplaced all these years because it's owner had the story confused ! The cue Mosconi taught Newman to play pool with ! A true classic , it's value is clearly double the $50K the owner is asking !
Boy , I hope he reposts , and there's a buy-it-now button!
