Songs about or that mention pool

Wow -- "Trouble in River City" from Music Man has got to be somewhere near the top of the list in terms of its influence. Am I really that old, that the others missed it.

Jim Croce's, "You Don't Mess Around With Jim" is my all time favorite and I usually play it when the guys are here for pool.

Even if you do have a two piece, custom made, pool cue.

3. Zana Lee - Prince (believe it or not he likes pool)

Prince was in Evansville doing a concert and after the concert he and his entourage went to Harploes Main Street Exit to play pool.
He was playing pool and the owner of the establishment was watching. He was not crowding the table or any thing but Prince sent one of his guys over to tell the guy 'The man does not like you standing there watching'
Harpole replied Well until the man buys the place names it Princes Main Street Exit I will stand any place I like.

Toby Keith, "I ain't as good as I once was"

IIRC....Ol' Dave got in a little trouble with a couple of redneck boys and a great big bad backer man. He was hustlin' a game of pool.

Sublime - Pool shark was about shooting up heroin.. Zero reference to pool, billiards, 8ball nothing.

Worst input .... ever.

Take This Job And Shove It by Dead Kennedys:
"...
Let's all go use our sick leave up
And then we'll shoot some pool
Got brand new skinhead hair cuts
You think he's a fool
One of these days I'll blow my top
Or somebody's gonna pay
I'd hate to see the process
As you enter the factory and say

Take this job and shove it,
I ain't workin here no more..."

Jim Croce........"Dont Mess around with Jim"

It is about pool and hustlin'!

Don't forget that Croce's "Bad, Bad Leroy Brown" also makes mention of a pool hall.

Maniac

I just typed in pool hall ( Itunes ) and got to many to type. Let me know if you don't have Itunes and really want the list and I will take care of it. I listened to some of them for 30 seconds and they didn't sound to bad.

Some of us don't shoot up heroin and wouldn't have known that...
