Spat between Accu-Stats and InsidePoolMag at DCC

You guys can believe what you want. I was watching and listening at the time. Pat was WAY out of line! I have been a customer of accu-stats for many years and am a fan but what he did today was atrociously unprofessional. He should be ashamed

Right... and you just created the account now to bash Pat, yet have been buying his videos for years...:rolleyes:

I know Pat, and I find it hard to believe he would attack anyone. I have always thought he is a really nice guy.

I watched all 3 streams. AS was by far the best quality wise.

When i heard Pat was there with all his equip costing probably 3x either of the other guys and charging $$ yet others were providing free streams, I was shocked.

Pool players just want to see "The Derby" and if they have a choice between free and pay, probably about 90% are gonna choose free despite the better quality of the pay stream. I can almost guarantee, Pat would have done 2x the business if the other streams were not there.

I know we viewers want it all but imho, this was a gift to us this Derby as im sure Pat will have it clear in the next contract that he gets no competition in streaming the tournament.

Im guessing he thought the other 2 would only show action matches this time.

PS-I dont know why a tournament would pay 25-30K to have AS at their event which i have heard before. Maybe it makes sense in some way im not thinking about?

It seems some people have legitimately mistaken the extreme sarcasm in this thread as fact.

Just to be bluntly clear, there was NO violence or weapons or physical altercations of any kind used by any person.

Pat moved the camera, without damaging it.

I too agree with this. I was at the DCC (did not witness this incident), but to me it looked like one accustats camera cost more than the other guy's entire setup. This isn't meant to be a bash on the streamers, just the contrast that the Accustats crew is providing a professional service, with full time staff, actual full time commentators that commentate on the match, etc. The streamers are in my mind more for fun and b.s. ing about the matches. Thats all good, there is a use for both.

I don't think anyone pays Accustats to video their events. I believe what you are referring to is that the WPBA actually pays ESPN to have their coverage on TV. I don't know either as fact, but I recall reading to this affect on the forums several times over the years. (sarcasm, and that must mean its true since I read it on the internet...)

The camera was damaged, it was mentioned on the stream.

I always try to explain to my kids, when you tell someone something

I know Pat, and I find it hard to believe he would attack anyone. I have always thought he is a really nice guy.

They tell it, and it is just a little different,,,, and the next time it gets worse and worse, until the whole story is gone. And then, we have people who don't understand a sarcastic post, and wanna call the authorities. It is, in my opinion, a crazy world filled with crazy people..... One thing good that arose from this thread, is some of the postings with Forrest Gump, and a few others.

Those people in the know, know Pat Fleming and his integrity. So lets not get into a he said she said kinda thing unless we know facts. Besides many people dont know Pats long time friend and camera man passed away at the Derby when they found him in his hotel room from a heart attack. Pat has been under a lot of stress. And Im tired of all these people whining about DVD prices. Im just not going to address that anymore. Just keep wat ching your free stream but remember Pat is making and has made a great contribution to the sport we all love.
If he was a nit he would be sitting back home with a top exec job and playing golf on Sundays instead of listening to pool jerks BMW. Beetch, Wine, and Moan. But he is a man controlling his own fate.

Just a little story about PAT. I remember when he used to drive all the way from Jersey to Reno with all his equipment to record the Reno tournaments. He would come by himself and do all the work himself.
Being away from family and living out of motels he would just put outa Herculean effort to do something that he believed in. At nite instead of bringing all his stuff to his room would cover it up with tapes and books.
He would come down and some thieves would pilfer his stock.

He would smile and get back to work filming.
I honor that man. He is a treasure to this game. Im sorry he got into some kind of conflict with others. But like I said people who know pat will give him the benefit of the doubt. And I only pray the best for him

I agree. But what I would like to know is did Pat really brandish a knife and a gun with a silencer? Could anyone who knows Pat speak on whether or not he is known to own and carry such instruments? This to me seems to be the most important thing as who can or cannot stream specific events will be sorted out by the proper parties on a case by case basis. The fact that IP was not able to continue the 10 ball streaming they have been doing a nice job of after this altercation shows that who can or can't stream can be enforced and regulated. The issue of weapons being waved around seems far more important or am I missing something here? I have enjoyed much coverage from both Accu Stats and IP. Can't we all co-exist without all the drama?

Pat is a Class III armes dealer on the side, grenades , RPG's, nitro glycerin and WMD's I cant talk about cause its classified. Chuck Norris is his ***** too.

Honestly who is gullible enough to think pat is running around the Derby sticking guns with silencers in peoples faces?? Ever meet Pat, nicest guy ever. He has only been doing this for 30 years and never had a problem.

I know it sounds crazy but i have heard it from some people who would seem to know. I'm aware of the ESPN/WPBA relationship dollar wise.

Ever wonder why Accu-Stats only did Turning Stone once?

EDIT-The whole gun/silencer thing was sarcasm the author has clarified.

Accu-stats has done Turning Stone more than once. This time they did it on their own dime. Didnt get a cent for anything and commentators did a freebie too. This was for the love of pool.

Nah Accu-stats and PAT is never in a bad spot with the people who do business with him

And you should get your facts straight

How many times has the Accu-Stats arena been at Turning Stone? The catalog shows only 2007 and i only remember one. If it's 2 well sue me but my point is still WELL made.

You are right if you only go by a catalogue. But Pat has been up there with a skeleton crew 5 or 6 times simply to support AZ billiards and give a free stream. Sometimes Pat would go by himself or take a cameraman and have his main man Jim run the feed from the office. Also bringing up commentators like Danny. Pat would shut down his office to do this.

So I dont know what your POINT is but I know the point about me having to delete my post is ironic when you have facts skewed

My point is PAT has done a lot for the game and people that whine and moan about his company is lame at best.
