so anyone who walks in get to play for free?
that place must be packed all the time then with people looking to have fun for free table time?

yes, no table fee. The owner even used to give free food and beverages. :)

When I was there in February 2007 they had like 20+ tables, free food, free beverages, free chalk etc.

Bugsy Promotion (Alcano, Orcullo, De Luna, Gomez, Pena etc) used to practice there on daytime, and played money matches at One Side or Side Pocket at nights.

I went there to practice with them two days. Each of these monster players practicing on a table each, playing 50 racks against the 9-ball.

This was their practice routine, play 50 racks (5 x 10 racks) against the ghost every day, and keeping track of their scores. Break, ball in hand, run out.

At the end of the day the scores for the players were like 10-0, 9-1, 8-2, 9-1, 9-1.

I even think it was either Gabica or De Luna who had a perfect score one of the days.

I scored 7-3 twice in one day as my best, and thought I did good... haha...

Later that year, in October/November, the World Championship qualifiers were played in the same hall.

Yeah, well we have free chalk too.

How about smoking? Air looks very unsmoky and I thought everybody in the PI smoked:blush::confused::sorry:

i think my billiard biddy Dgem have answer some of your inquiry
yup playing here is totally free, before they usde to have free food for members only.

a little brief history, the owner Mr. Sebastian Chua love playing billiards, he used to have 3 Brunwick gold crown 3 tables at home where only personnal friends are invited to come and play at night, well neither did he expects that so many of his friends love to play billiards, so he expanded it to 10 tables building a one story pad to accomodate the 10 tables. before, playing is only exclusive for friends of the owners since everything is free from food to drinks at no cost. one can't just get in the billiard place without any invitation from the owner or friends close to the owner. this used to be the hangouts of some of the billiard greats, when they are not playing, they play cards or chinese majong.
soon the 10 tables can't accomodate the people coming over to play every wed and sat only, you have to be as early to have a table. then he decided to expand further by adding another 10 tables totalling to 20 tables during the 2008. since many people are coming over now to play the place seem to be crowded some times. what the owner did is to tore down a house beside it and expanded to now totalling to 42 tables max. and it was open to anyone who can play.
as of now there are no more free foods and drinks. but still tables are free of charge, sometimes athe owner is giving away free original master chalks and it's open from Monday to Sat from 3pm to 3am
 
StarBilliards Center is a great place to people who loves billiards sport..love to play there..
