Still Alive but without power

Sorry to the folks that sent me PM's, I would have responded but we got hit by a tornado Monday night. We got pretty lucky though, it went over our house but wasn't on the ground at the time. Tons of trees are down all around me and in my yard but my house sustained minimal damage. My shed took a nasty hit, tree limb straight through the roof and stabbed a hole into my lawn mower!

But, I was able to light some candles later that night and shoot some pool! No power still and they say I will be without power for another 2 - 3 days. But at least everyone is ok and no fatalities.

Here's a few pics of the carnage. I cant imagine the poor folks in OK, our prayers go out to them.

OMG! Thank goodness, you and yorus are okay. What an awful mess! I hope you have a generator or something to save your food and give you light.

Don't let the tree companies rip you off. In my area, when we had a wind sheer and a tornado come, the tree companies charged triple price. It was tragic, but what can you do? Insurance only covered so much.

I wish you all the best. Sweet blessings are coming your way!

Sorry for your troubles. Wishing you and yours a smooth recovery and better times ahead.

Dag. And that's what happens when a tornado misses you.

Yeah, we were really lucky. This storm was now where near the magnitude of the Oklahoma one.

I wish we did have a generator but all the stores are sold out. I have most of my food at my dads house in his freezer but we will still loose some. We got coolers with food in them that we are living out of for the moment and thank God for my new grill!

I'm back at work today so I can get caught up on the news, I am just blown away by what happened in Oklahoma. We (our community) is starting a semi trailer care package to send there tomorrow. My cousin said he still can't find his truck and he has looked everywhere. The bad thing is it was parked in his garage. The only thing left of his garage in the concrete foundation.

Looks like your area had some strong winds. I think I speak for everyone in saying I'm happy your area had no fatalities with that kind of damage.
Pool by candle light sounds like a real challenge. I once seen a antique pool table light that had both electric and gas lanterns, sounds crazy' but they were used to power outages very often and or no power/electricity at all due to the grid.
Everyone seams so picky these days when it comes to the not so perfect conditions pool is played in fear it might mess up their game. It don't seem to slow you down, it might make your game become better shooting pool in your conditions. Before you know it you will be playing lights out'

Stick together and help the community be strong thru the tough time.

Glad you're all OK and thanks for reporting in. That was some big a$$ wind to cause all that without touching down. WOW!

Best of luck

Just crazy the power of that storm. It's such an eye opener, a reminder to cherish every minute we have with family and friends.

Chris...Glad you're okay, and mostly just lost power. I saw a group of 30+ electrical trucks, in my town, getting ready to hit the road heading west. I'm sure there are many more headed that way.

Glad your ok, its always better to be lucky than good, God bless. Hope that is all over with. take care:smile:

Glad you & family are ok. Looks like it was trying to make the ground near your place for sure !

We don't get tornadoes in up-state NY thankfully. There was a "twister" that touched down once bout 20 mi from home here. I had to go see what it was all about. About as much damage as good straight line wind, But the tell tale was those bare twisted trees !
I am glad all are well at your place.

Okies: the check is in the mail. Keep them in your prayers.

I am so glad that you and your family are safe and sound. God blessed you. Hope your power comes back on soon. I know exactly how it is without power for a long period of time. Keep safe. Take care. Those photos says it all!
Many Regards,

Glad you and your family made it through without personal injury or deaths. You just have a mess on your hands but there are easy remedies for that.

The pics were awesome and show the destructive force of nature.

You should buy some lottery tickets. Just sayin....

Good to hear that you are safe and well, property damage can always be repaired. On a lighter note, we had a tornado watch all thru Sunday nite, I told my wife if the tornado sirens started going off that we needed to rush to the basement to lay ON the pool table to protect it:D

Thoughts and prayers to all...I had to turn off the TV yesterday when the talk turned to the perished children. So damned sad....
