Turned 74 yesterday and still ran a 3 pack and beat the 9 ball ghost in a race to 10. I got him 10-7, but it was not very pretty. Not bad for 74 with a bad back, right shoulder, both knees shot and COPD...huh? Johnnyt

I'll give you the typical AzB response:
"Yea, well you did it on a Valley barbox, so it's not that impressive!"

And now I'll give you my response:
I'm glad you're still doing well, Johnny! I can only hope that I'll still be playing at your age!

You made me google COPD....hang in, sir....the docs keep getting better.

Now I have to google '9-ball ghost'.....
...but I suspect you did something good.

here I thought I was old at 70........may have to change my forum name. happy birthday sir and congratulations, there may be hope for me after all!

Good for you. Here in Columbia MO you could make a decent living hustling the college kids with their egos and Daddy's money.

That's fantastic! At 74! I hope i can still shoot pool... let alone still be alive in another 44 years.

It's very encouraging when i hear that older players are still shooting great and can still run racks, and also still in love with the game!!

Congrats and keep it up. You older guys who still play well tell the rest of us that we have something to look forward to.

Great job! I don't play at .your level yet but, I'm learning more every day. I'm 76 and started playing 65 months ago. Wish I would have started much earlier.

Congrats Johnny and Happy belated B-Day! That is one reason pool is such a good sport. My golfing days have slowed and pool sessions increased as I age. Very easy on my body compared to golf. Errrr hate getting older ;(

Funny you post this. I have action with a 72 year old at 1p today. He is still very good and was really talking his game up yesterday. I said lets do it. He is fun to play. He really hates racking.
