I witnessed Kevin ??? from Maryland play the 9/10 ball ghost as follows-
Alternate racks of 9 ball 10 ball- Race to 9
all balls made on the break are spotted
No bjh after the break
No early combos on the "cheese"
game was on a badly shimmed 9ft gold crown
He didnt get to 7 when I watched.
I heard he won 5 races in a row on a easier 9ft

He was playing on his own!

Guy had more talent then Brains.Hated money:angry:

Strongest one I've seen where the player giving the spot lost was about a year ago playing English Pool. A guy called Mick Hill put up £3000 against a local non pro but a very good player. Race to 25 and he gave the guy a 18 game headstart. It finished 25-18 to the pro. Winner breaks playing Blackball Rules (its a rule set we use here). He put together an 8 pack, then a 6 pack of break and runs. Never seen anyone play perfect pool until I saw this match. I thought the local player would be stealing but Mick obviously didn't. Didn't make one error that I can recall.

Biggest spot I ever saw was me giving a guy 98 points to a hundred in 14.1. I won every time we played. It wasn't due to my skill though, rather was due to his total lack of any skill whatsoever. I would leave a hanger for him, and he would scratch on it every time. Pretty soon, instead of only needing two balls, he would need twenty balls. Plenty of "breathing" room to beat him then.

Beat a local shortshop 12-3 in one pocket several years ago. The guy was definitely pretty strong, too.
 
The strongest spot I've ever seen was by a good short stop player back in Jersey named Gypsy Bob aka "The Legend"He would play "B" players 9 ball and they had every ball as their money ball.
All they had to do was call the pocket and make any ball 1 to 9 to win. It was great to watch. The guy was addicted to action.
Bob played a hair above me and I gave those same players the 7-8-9 and struggled to win.
 
Biggest spot I was ever given in 9 ball was the last 4.

I couldnt say no, and he knew it.

The biggest spot I've ever been given was the last 2 and 10-5 one pocket.
 
I gave my nephew a 50 headstart and BIH on the break ball in 14.1 in a race to 100. He won. Comfortably :(

I saw a guy in de give another gent who didn't play bad the 3 out in 9ball for 1k a set going to 9 and the guy giving the spot won 5 sets
 
I played a guy for years in one pocket and rotation games..
The guy is a 9 in APA so he plays alright.. :)

One pocket - 18-5, all the breaks, my fouls count as 2
9 ball - last 6 and breaks
10 ball - last 7 and breaks

I normally win if we played long enough. sometimes he gets on a roll and wins a couple in a row. I was down 26 games of 9 ball once at $10 game and came back. Ended up 20 ahead or something.. lol

I gave "Mexican Reuben" (one of big gamblers in Dallas) the 3 and the Break playing 9 Ball and won over $15,000 in three plays. We were playing races to 5 for a thousand and there were some sets that I NEVER got to the table....he would run 5 and out! - Talk about a tough game....but slowly, surely he stopped getting to the 3 Ball and it was "lights out".

After I beat him the last time as he was walking to the door I said "Ok, I'll give you the 2 and the Break, we can bet two thousand a set!"........

He stopped dead in his tracks and walked quickly back .... "That's brutal and no, I'm not going to take the 2 and the Break, but promise me you won't tell anyone you offered me that game and I turned it down!!!"

I couldn't help but crack a smile "I won't, but if you don't play me within a year I'm telling everybody" :groucho: - that was a few years ago ;) 'The Game was his Teacher'

I don' know, it sounds like you had a lock. I used to play a guy who came into the bowling alley I played at 100 points 100 to 1 on the money. He was a league sponsor and owned appliance stores and had a lot of money. It started out as a joke he was amazed I agreed to. I gave him $1000 to $10. I could beat him 100 points of straight pool. It meant nothing, in fact I actually played rather loose almost never playing safe because he was no threat.

Playing loose as I did I would always put together runs. Even if the break shot was not so great I would usually shoot it anyway and with a little luck keep a run going. Even if I missed he might run 6, mean time I run 60 or 70. We ended up playing that game 2 or three times a week for several years. Never raised the bet, he shot his $10 at my $1000 and played several games each time.

Anyhow he was barking at a local "B" level player. So the B player suggested this; The shortstop had to play the entire match with his hand over his mouth, which meant he had to shoot one handed. If at anytime his hand came off his mouth it would forfeit the match.

The match was a race to 9 in 9ball. The shortstop was up 8-4 when all hell broke loose. The B player had scratched, grabbed the cue ball and tossed it to the shortstop. The shortstop was holding his cue in one hand and had his other hand over his mouth, so of course his reaction was to catch the cue ball with his hand that was over his mouth!

The look on his face was priceless.
 
I gave Archie the Greek the three out, all wild, and they counted on the break. Winner break. Seven ahead for 1K. I got on the hill a couple of times but after about 18 hours he won. I couldn't fade the balls counting on his break.
We pressed the bet to 2K after getting back to even after I was on the hill once thinking I could win.
 
In one pocket I saw Roadman play Grady 20-10 I coldn't believe anyone would spot a player that much.
In 9-ball I watched Gabe Owen give a guy the 6 out who had just played a top player even and won, Gabe took the cash. 8-ball the better player shot in rotation with only 2 trips to the table and won.

If that's true, that is the best hustle I've ever heard of.
 
After an 8ball line tournament in Sacramento, I saw a guy give a B player the table up to the 8. All the guy had to do was pocket the 8 and the challenger had to make everything else... seems simple right? The thing about it was there were plenty of balls to hide the cb behind and play safe. Easy 20 bucks a rack (it helps to have the break).

Less of a true spot and more of an outright hustle....
