SVB signs with Cuetec

Sfleinen: Did you even read my post?
I'm not bashing Svb or Cuetec and i did read Chris's posts how the deal went.
I don't get why it would be so horrible if Svb would sign for money reasons. It's nothing wrong with this. He's a professional pool player.
Ah.It doesn't matter anyway. The world is just white

When Cuetec let Earl go, he said something like "I'm not mad, I'm glad I'm finally done with 'em. Their sticks were holding me back. I was playing like one or balls worse using them".

Obviously, being Earl, he is going to say something really bitter like that after basically being 'fired'.

But what if it's true? I hate to think Shane will start to play below his potential (at least in tournaments, who knows what he'll use in private).

Of course, I'm usually a big fan of 'it's the indian not the arrow'. The problem is that the arrow matters a bit more once you reach top pro level.

Re: gambling - I dunno how legal it is, but it doesn't matter. It seems like a lot of shane's big 5-digit sets end up being TAR productions anyway. And TAR gets around it by calling these sets '2-man invitational tournaments'. That should cover shane.

Someone said 'nevermind the technicality, it's the appearance of impropriety that will be a problem'. That's silly. There isn't an appearance of impropriety because it isn't considered "improper" to match up over a pool table. Gambling is a well-known part of pool and is routinely done by fairly clean-cut, friendly and classy individuals. It has no more social stigma than high heels on a cocktail waitress.

Cuetec knows that and they will handle it the way you'd expect: Ignore it, don't mention it, and don't care about it.. because nobody except incredible tightassed prudes is going to refuse to buy cuetecs because one of their players gambles. I'd be shocked if they lose 3 sales in 10 years over it.

Congrats SVB

Congrats SVB on your new endorsement. You and Allison are both class acts and I hope this helps the future of pool! You both are good for helping pool gain the mainstream support it so desperately needs.

Lets get straight to the point, who wants to play Shane in a tournament or gambling if he's shooting with a cuetec or a broomstick.......

gotta think about it . . .

Does he get to chalk the end of the broom stick or not? :D :D :D

I think after all the stories over the years about people beating other players with broomsticks that someone should be making slip on tips for those babies. lol

Let's play!

Proud owner of a Cuetec R360. I'm a retired geezer who's got a basement table and a cue that makes me shoot lights out.

If you think Cuetec is for woosies, come on over to Golden, Colorado, and we'll get it on. Beer is on me.

9BallPaul....i've got a r360 and a thunderbolt and i think both shafts shoot really good as well. especially for the money. the r360 is very low deflection, as low as my OB-1. not a huge fan of the fiberglass shafts, but they are OK, not as bad as everyone says. the cuetec tips suck big ass though, once you put a decent tip on there, they play good.

Congrats Shane, this will add a lot of security to your career. Re: Gambling...I honestly believe that Shane and CueTech could turn Shane's gambling prowess into a positive that could be promoted. Since it seems to be imposible to seperate gambling from pool, I think it could be promoted in a way that it's a win-win-win for Shane, CueTech and Pool.
:p

Yes, that would work for cuetec. However, in order for this sport to REALLY grow, we have to get OUTSIDE sponsors(ie. Rolex, Vizio, Miller) you know all of those companies that will see with let's say golf, tennis, nba. And we can NEVER get those with the gambling chain around our necks

I won a cue at the APA singles last year and it came with an R360. Seemed very light and I really didnt give the shaft a chance before I sold it as I was/am happy with my current cue.

Good luck to Shane.

Cuetec R360

Bought a R360 for myself to try, let some of my better players try it out most liked the action from it .I offer the shaft on Cuetec entry level cue for 200.00 .I think it's good deal for new players.

I SUGGEST CUETEC NEEDS A NEW CORPORATE IDENTITY..maybe hire new engineers and new designers, I've READ a LOTS OF NEGATIVE FEEDBACKS ABOUT CUETEC CUES...And for their own good, they should do something about it....:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

I do think this is great, do not understand why anyone can be negative about it. Shane has a contract which is guaranteed money for the next couple years, how many players can say that?, congrats to him. I hope he does come out with an SVB model that he is allowed to design, would be very cool.
