Swanee updates

What time do the festivities begin tomorrow?

Sorry, everyone. I was running around so busy with running the board, I didn't get to give you any updates. Tomorrow we are down to 48 players today from the original 192 and I should be able to feed you the goodies:wink:

We started 16 winner's round 10 a.m. sharp.

Boy what a turnout for this tournament. A lot of drama all day with Melinda and Ron Marshall needing medical attention and me being close to also needing help. I had to forfeit out of the tournament because my hip was killing me.

The tables downstairs are very tight but enjoyable to play on compared to the the tables upstairs. Upstairs the pockets are quite a bit looser and there were many break and runs there.

I may return there today after my wife and I have a valentine day lunch. Good luck to all my friends that are still in. Being Corey H., Frankincali, Poolhustler, Fach, Nick Spano, Parica, Max, Oscar and others.

Realistically, what time will the tournament go until?

We were lucky enought to get down to 48 players last night vice 64 in the past. We are hoping to wrap it up by midnite, but realistically it will be more around 1 ish.

It just blows my mind that although all the experts claim to know so many reasons that pool is dead in the US or on the West Coast that a moderately promoted tournament like the Swanee attracts almost 200 entrants at close to $100 a pop.

I don't know all the economics and I'm sure all the experts claim to, but there certainly does seem to be plenty of interest from the pool players in the LA area, but what do I know? I guess player interest isn't enough.

I dropped in last night and it seemed the Hollywood Billiards was putting on a great time for everyone involved and I hope to be back tonight to see some of the final matches.

Thanks to CSI and to Hollywood Billiards for what is shaping up to be a great show.

Keep the updates coming girl!!

Too bad that Mark Griffin didn't win. Is it single elimination now, or can I still root for him?

Come on Oscar D, you know I am rooting for you too :D

thank you...

...for the kind thoughts. According to ER doctors, GHB was put in my drink when I wasn't looking.

Regardless, I would like to offer my sincere apologies to wayne for disturbing him during his match by passing out.

That is truly disturbing. Sorry to hear that.

Wow! Glad to hear you're OK. We were all really worried. And, what is GHB?

Glad to hear you're OK. Someone knows who did this and it will all come out sooner or later. Then OMG.... the $hit hits the fan. Johnnyt

I'm out...

I finished today, John Pasquerella did me in... I wasn't entirely dissatisfied with my play and how it turned out. I ended up 25th or something. I won one match today and then the back pain got to me. I ignored it as best i could. excuses excuses right???

There were a bunch of good players still in when I left. Ernesto did in my buddy whom I staked. Oscar was still in, Max Eberle, Louis Ulrich, dave Hemmah, and several others.

Well, I had fun and look forward to doing it again next year. Maybe I'll try to do the DCC next year too. I need to start playing in more of the bigger events.
