TAR 30: Van Boening vs Appleton JAN 18-20, 2013

I will definitely be watching this one, should be a great match between the best Euro player and best American player. I might even stop by the studio if there is some swill to drank on. :grin-square:

P.S. Get Rogan in the booth for commentary if you can.

You know what would be great?? An answer to questions on here and or on FB... I guess if somebody is too busy I would understand but after 3 or 4 messages with no responses i guess certain questions arent that important. Don't know what to say tbh. Sorry Justin but you should respond to thous that message you. :lovies:

What is your question that you posted here? I'm usually pretty good about keeping up with stuff on AZ.

As for the book of face...some things I answer some things I don't. I overlook a lot of messages on facebook if they are not from people I know. After the first few hundred messages saying "Why dont you have Efren play Mosconi on TAR?" or "What time does the 3 o'clock match start?" I just skip over most of them to be honest.

What is it you have a question about?

This will be a great match up!

But it seems the King of Tar format has been abandoned.

Scheduling for the last part of 2012 kind of put the stake in that. It was brutal trying to get guys free on the same weekend. We are trying to put a little continuity back into things with the winner here playing Dechaine in February. Mike beat Hatch so he's got a match coming.

Unfortunately we are at the mercy of every other scheduled event in the world as well as the fact that some guys are only in the US a month or so a year. I haven't given up on a more structured format I just haven't found a reliable way to make all the pieces fit yet.

Thanks JCIN for clearing that up.

What a nice matchup. They both still remember the Mosconi Cup so I sense there's something extra to prove from both sides. Should be a nail-biter anyway.
Go Daz! :)

Justin, I'll be watching for sure.

Regarding the format, my vote is to go back to the all around format of a few months ago. 10 ball, 1P, 8 ball. Maybe you are gun-shy about that because the 1P match lasted 16 hours or whatever. Regardless I enjoyed it, and I like the variety and guaranteed 3rd day. You could always substitute in 9 ball or 14.1.

This match is going to be a close war IMO. Thanks for putting this one on TAR. I believe the line is even here. Johnnyt

Whaave a question about?

Just was wondering about replays for TAR matches. I work restaurant hours on the weekends so I can't watch it live. Hell with 3 jobs and 4 kids I barely have time to take a deuce let only play pool. I guess i could order the dvds but I rather watch it sooner. Can you send it in a file that I could download and watch at a later time?? I wouldnt share it out of respect for you and the billiard community. Let me know :-)

Awesome Justin. I think this is the best match up you could book right now - especially after the Mosconi Cup.

With pockets this tight,Shane will hammer him severely.

I disagree. I' say they are more or less equal as ball pocketers. Shane has far more experience on the TAR studio table, however, and that might be a small edge.

We loop the days play on the PPV until two hours before the start of the next day. As for video on demand we are still trying to find a solution that makes sense. I am hopeful it gets done early this year.

He said TAR 13

Where can I buy the PPV?

Joe was all worked up from shooting Eric Crisps nuts in with his own cue and messed up the number.

Link to buy the PPV will be up on the theactionreport.com the week of the event.

I don't pay to watch pool much, but I would for this match.

Still hoping for you to find a good solution for video on demand in general. Thanks for working on that. :thumbup2:

For this match in particular, a replay would be nice. I work weekends also. Being able to watch replays of all three sets on the following Monday would be great.

I vote to get Joe Rogan to commentate as well if that could be pulled off... Joe Rogan and Ken Shuman... now there's an, er, um, "interesting" match up, stylistically speaking.

I like the three separate payouts better. I know you wouldn't change anything for this match. But, in general, guaranteeing a third day is cool, even if it were the same game and format each day.

I'm not sure when Darren plays next, but after this week, I'm pretty sure he's gonna play a bit pissed off for a few weeks. He might be a bit hung over for a couple days first though. I'm pretty sure there ain't no kung pao chicken on the menu for a spit.
