Mark and I will be back for TAR Podcast #17 tonight. Big news tonight is we announce the players in TAR 26 presented by OB Cues and sponsored by Simonis and CSI which will take place May 25-27. This is one people have talked about for years and its finally going to happen. We will also talk about the upcoming TAR 25 presented by OB Cues sponsored by Simonis and CSI featuring Dennis Hatch taking on Mike Dechaine taking place May 4-6..

We will discuss the US Open One Pocket and US Open 10 Ball which TAr will be covering again. Basically May is going to have a lot of TAR in it.

We welcome any suggestions for topics for this weeks podcast and would like for people to watch live and join us in the chat if they have time tonight.

Yeah tell me who the tar 26 match is gonna have in it so i can ask the right questions :P

Dechaine especially and Hatch less so have been known to be somewhat volatile in the past. Do you guys have rules set in place to prevent them from going "Earl" during the match?

a couple questions:

- What is both of your opinions on the "Sharks" web series?

- Has any big name female pool players showed interest in playing a TAR match?

- Would you be open to an all femlae TAR match or a guy vs girl match?

Thanks for the podcast. I really enjoy them.

which female players would make a good TAR match?

which female vs male would make a good TAR match?

Do you guys have any idea who may be in the booth doing some commentary for TAR 25
yet? (I know these things can be hard to plan).

I'd like to see how much interest people would have in seeing an "old school" match between players using the "two shot rollout" (or push as some call it) rules instead of the Texas Express style.

It would be refreshing to see some pros trying to make some crowd-pleasing shots instead of playing the same patterns over and over and then ducking every other shot when they get into a bit of trouble.

What type of chop is ethical in pool? Poker tournaments chop all the time. Golf - Tennis, there is no chop. Or if there is, it is not made public.

I had not seen Dennis Hatch much so I thought I would watch some YouTube matches he was in to get an idea of how he played.

Now that I have watched some of his matches, I see that he might be apt to go off during a match. I actually didn't see him do that but his demeanor seemd on the edge. Maybe it is his intenst focus or maybe he gets out of focus a bit. Not sure.

I would like to you discuss that if possible.

Thanks

--Jeff

I'd be curious to know how you guys liked the "arena rules" used during the Darren-Mika match over at Accu-Stats.

Justin, I would love to know what your dream TAR matchup would be. Players involved and formats included.

Any thoughts with non-traditional TAR sessions?

Maybe a talk show with legend gamblers/road players discussing stories or even old match-ups among each other. "The Rack" thread here on azb has some really amazing stories--- would be great to get guys like Keither, Billy, Hopkins discuss huge match-ups and take-offs. Just an open forum with greats talking stories and pool in general. Something like "The View" but with hardened legend gamblers talking anything pool.

Maybe instructional sessions?

TAR = The Action Report.... does it have to be pool action? Since you're in Vegas, you have a lot of great legend "gamblers" that may not be pool players (WPT, otherwise). I know Archie rolls into Pool Sharks sometimes-- would love to hear what he has to say in general.

Dave

edit:

my dream tar matchup is either:

strickland/sigel
keith mccready/strickland
hopkins/sigel

that would be good, talk about the racking, etc you might catch them off guard and they will give out some good tips they normally wouldnt?

Would love to see some matchup in the future with Pool300 as the basis. I really like it and since it just got sanctioned maybe time to take a little harder look at it....

The Wyoming debacle.... It would be interesting if you could get Shane or any of the other pro's you know personally to say anything about it, on the record. I wouldn't want you to ambush them, live on-stream, but if you have conversations about it, if you could ask them if talking about it was ok. Your podcast is the closest thing US pool has to journalism. No knock on the periodicals, its just that they won't tackle anything controversial. You two are never afraid to comment on the issues, and that's what makes your podcast so valuable.

Pool 300.... Wind mark up and let him go. Let him embellish a little more than the 6-7 paragraphs the AZB article provided. I dunno that we need another format (coughsputterBonusBallhackgag) but if CSI is associated, let's hear it from the man.

Any updates on Tunica?

Of course, TAR 25 & 26.... Really looking forward to it. Any chance you'll have the participants in town and available to be on the podcast the night before the match? Gotta cross platform promote...

Can we watch the whole thing, this time? :p. Referring to the YouTube version, of course. (Can't watch live, playing pool when you guys do the show.)

As always, really looking forward to the show. Thanks for taking the time to do these.

TAR Ring Game for the level just below 'Marquee Name'? Klatt, Melling, Engel, Ouschan etc...

This is good stuff.... Perhaps an undercard event, or part of a weekend package, if you don't think it could stand on its own.
