TAR Young Guns: Bergman vs. Morra

I will take a sweat bet or two on Morra giving up 5 games. PM me if anyone is interested. Thanks.

Southpaw

Could be any area

When I read this thread, I saw that Morro is from Canada. Just this morning I received a joke that I thought was pretty funny. It refers to a person from Canada, but, could be anywhere/location. Being that they coincide, just gives me a reason to share. Nothing personal.

Here it is:

Whores and Hockey Players

A man in a Florida supermarket tries to buy half a head of lettuce. The very young produce assistant tells him that they sell only whole heads of lettuce. The man persists and asks to see the manager. The boy says he'll ask his manager about it.
Walking into the back room, the boy said to his manager, "Some a$$hole wants to buy half a head of lettuce." As he finished his sentence, he turned to find the man standing right behind him, so he added, "And this gentleman has kindly offered to buy the other half."

The manager approved the deal, and the man went on his way. Later the manager said to the boy, "I was impressed with the way you got yourself out of that situation earlier. We like people who think on their feet here. Where are you from, son?"
"Canada, sir," the boy replied. "Well, why did you leave Canada?" the manager asked.
The boy said, "Sir, there's nothing but whores and hockey players up there."

"Really?" said the manager. "My wife is from Canada ."

"No kidding?" replied the boy. "Who'd she play for?"..:D :D :D

Anyone likes Morra giving up 7/5 on the money PM me.

I will also bet the game line with it being Bergman dont 95 (morra has to hold him to 94 games or less for you to win the cheese).

I settle through paypal and you can expect payment from me immediately after the match.

Just out of curiousity - when was the last time you saw Justin hit a ball?

I watched them both play a few matches this weekend. I think Justin needs more than 5 games.

Its been a couple of years...thats what the shrug was for...I assume he plays at least as sporty as the last time I saw him if not better.

I have never seen Morra hit one ball but he is all over the billiards world these days it seems and I would be leary of Jay's glowing description of him...plus it seems atleast from this thread that Morra is the heavy betting favorite at 7/5 or 5 on the wire.

That's not such a big favorite. If you remember on the Shane-Earl match, you had to give up 20-25 games to get a bet on Shane, and it wasn't enough as it turned out. And people were offering 2-1 on the money prior to the match.

This is a much closer match up, but I happen to think John is a little better player. I may be wrong. I was very wrong about Rodney. Of course, that wasn't really a match anyway, just an exhibition. One more bit of phoniness by the IPT. He has to give these matches away. Who in their right mind would pay for it?

matchs....

i put shane van boening in a match that was a lock to everybody once! it was shane vs hennessee getting the 9 and the last 2!!!!!! it was a lock every one said! i said hmmm most sports betters think its a lock, its dead in the water! there is a word for that"UPSET" but its only an upset if the player that wins didnt think he could win! i assure you that justin can win! oh and by the way hennessee beat shane in that 10 ahead set!!!!!! so dont count your money before they hit the balls! wont suprise me a bit if justin wins! he is very confident! and thats dangerous when your a free wheeler like he is!

The big question will be if Morra's $50/$100 game can translate to his $20K game. I already know what Justin's $20K game is and more importantly, so does he. And hopefully Morra won't lose his focus like he did in Reno & give everyone a good match to see.

People stating opinions on hearsay or watching 7 games on a bad playing bar table, that amazes me.

I know, I know - Morra was sick but ......

The story doesn't give the final score 75-62.

---by the way Nasty, Justin is not a free wheeler - not in any sense of the word. He will out move, out safe & out kick Morra - that is something I am definitely sure of.

Like I said I dunno. You haven't been wrong often and you get a free pass for betting on the losing side in an "exhibition". My not so finely tuned warning siren is going off with regards to 5 games on the wire though. I'm probably wrong. I'm sure it will be a great match and good betting regardless. Hope this is a popular matchup for the TAR folks, which it appears to be right now.

It wasn't that long ago that I watched and lost betting on Shane playing Corey with the 8 (9ball) in atlanta. Then he turns around in less than a year I think and murders him even racing to 100 in ten ball.

Was that in reference to my opinion? If so, let me remind you I was just answering your question. I have seen them both play several times in the past, and still give the edge to John. I am not saying that Justin can't win, that would be a pretty dumb statement. Also, can you please name a better playing bar table than the one's in Reno?

Watchez if you like your boy so much I'll bet up to $500 even on Morra. I'll be your huckleberry ;)

All you Morra bettors...heres a prop bet for you:

Ill take Justin and make it that Morra don't 82
my 50 against 300.

You got Morra and Justin has to beat him 100-81 or better for you to lose.

I'll bet Morra doesn't 66 if someone wants to lay 300 to my 30 or he doesn't 51 for 300 to 12. Not to knock you, but that's a stout money line.

Ok, I'll answer everyone all at once.

Many players complained of the rails on the tables at Reno. They very tough & made it difficult to run out. Besides the fact that is was 50 degrees in the room.

Why would I bet even when I can now can get odds or games on the wire? And---maybe I have something to do with the original match so I can get what I want even......and have it posted. I wouldn't want you to call me a Nit or anything like that.

Easy - you live in SC. Justin has not been to the DCC the past 2 years. He has not traveled east of the Mississippi River the past 2 years so where have you seen him play? You saw two internet matches - he lost to Morra, beat Parica. Morra, I guess you have seen him play at the DCC.

By the way, I know one of the players will be betting his own. No slip in confidence there.

I still have a few presents left as I ordered them today. If you are going to be at Olathe - PM me.

I like the money line bets that Uwate posted. I will also bet-
First day, Justin gets to 26.
Second day, Justin gets to 53.
Third day, Justin gets to 92.
And, I will take 5-1 on the money that all 3 of these happen.
