TAR Young Guns: Bergman vs. Morra

What does living in SC have anything to do with anything? I get around. And I saw more than two internet matches. I saw Justin play maybe 10 matches in Reno, I loved watching him play, he is very interesting. The rails were fine in Reno, and where did you get 50 degrees from? I was sweating my balls off in there sometimes.

Amen Easy! I thought it was plenty warm in Reno too! Those tables played great! Won't play on better bar tables anywhere! Also, I played Justin in the 8 ball, he never missed a ball in our match. Played great patterns and won 5-1. Morra looked strong too in the tournaments. Should be a great match at Shooters!

It was good meeting you out there buddy. I wonder where he got the "50 degrees" thing from?

Beats Me! It was even warmer than 50 degrees outside! Hey it was great meeting you too. Hope our paths cross again soon.

If you guys want to keep arguing about the weather like old men - we can.

I guess Justin and even Canada players such as Tyler & I can't remember the other kids name right now all wore jackets or long sleeve shirts while playing because they were warm. Or maybe Justin just has a lil less padding than some of the other players. Who knows? My point was that, at times, Justin did not play good in Reno because he was not comfortable. If you were comfortable & you won, then congratulations. In Parica match, Justin shot a 7 ball, came off the rail and went 10-12 inches too far. He yelled out f--k when doing so. Roll back the tape (of him playing Parica wearing his jacket). It wasn't because this kid can't normally judge one foot of shape.
My point was that people are making comments here about the Morra - Bergman match without even knowing who the players are, how they actually play, have never seen them play, or watched them play for 2 days on a bar table. That I find - funny - to say it nice as I can.

I like Justin. I dont know why. I never saw Morra play except at the Derby and on TAR PPV at Reno. Ive seen Justin play live in small action matches and I just like his attitude. Ive already got my bets in locally but if any of my friends want to make a small sweat bet with me can. Guys who Ive made bets with before on Paypal only. Jay I know youve loaded up but here's a chance to win that C note back if you like.
Oh I promise anything I win on AZ I will donate half back to TAR.

I think people making comments on this match without really knowing the players is similar to someone who wasn't in Reno commenting on the playing conditions....let alone the temperature in the room. Why is this still being argued? Let's all just let people think the way they want to think and bet the way they want to bet.

Nice flyer JCIN. I like how Morra is watching while Justin is shooting.

So far I have:
$250 with Jay H. - I bet Justin gets to 95.

The early line by the experts is that Justin is the definite underdog. 7/5 Morra favorite is what has been set. Anyone interested, please let me know.

I like Justin the dog.

Anyone that is going to be in Olathe for this match, PM me immediately. I will have a present for you.

Hoping for a big crowd.

Talked to Justin's dad last night - he is planning on being there, along with a few other friends.

Talked to KlockDoc - he is planning on being there.

Talked to JamieMartin - he is planning on being there.

Talked to Mark Wilson - there is a chance that he might be there as well. JCIN, who do you have to announce this match? If you could somehow get Mark in the booth, that would be great. Of course, he is knowledgable but he also coached Justin @ a younger age.

I made several bets on this match. Here I go (off) again. I have a bet with Watchez, Uwate, The Glove, Black Jef and Yobagua. Is there anyone I bet with that is missing from this list?

I gave up five games to two of the above and 6-5 to the other two. Yobagua bet me even (what a guy!).

I'll let you buy out for 150.

I have :
Jay H 250
Joey 50
SouthPaw 50

All that Justin gets to 95.

Nasty 50
even

If I missed someone, please let me know

I am looking for some of that 7:5 that has been offered. And that 10-1 that Morra doesn't get to 66. If the window is still open on this, please let me know.

More to come once Team Bergman has a corporate meeting this week.

Nasty & JCIN - I tried to hook it up & call in a favor to my buddy Mark Wilson but he has a prior commitment for a pool seminar in Sullivan Illinois (where ever that is? ) the same weekend. He was disappointed that he didn't know the dates of the Young Guns challenge sooner & he would have certainly arranged to be there. He wishes everyone luck - especially Justin.:p

Too Bad

It would have been awesome too have mark there.

On a sadder note I just herd mark closed his pool hall if its ture that sucks!
He is turley on of the good guys in pool. When you went into his pool hall he would always show you something to help your game, or life, or any other problem your haveing. I hope he starts playing fulltime again because when he's on he's really good, you can ask breedlove, janet, alison, or any other of the top 10 women's player out there that he coaches. JMHO

rzrbak - did you go to high school with fatboy?

Anyways, it is true - Mark is closing his pool room. It is for sale or equipment for sale. A nice one man operation if someone was committed & wanted to devote the time. Cleanest pool room you have ever been in with perfect equipment.

Time restraints & his belief that if he was to make a committment to the pool room he would want to keep doing it right.

With Mark's book to be out in June & a book tour to follow, he will surely keep busy. His lessons obviously keep him busy enough. Someday I might even take one of those lessons & learn how to draw my ball.

A podcast by TAR when the book comes out sure would be nice.

And you don't have to ask the top 10 women players he coaches - just ask anyone in the Midwest. In the days of the old McDermott 9 ball tour (now Midwest 9 ball tour), Mark was as dominant force as there could be. I believe one year he won 7-8 tournaments, against all champions. He hinted to me that he has been hitting balls, so we shall see.
