Tascarella Pics.....please.

When first looking at that cue some time ago I thought that the wood used between the yellow(ish?) and black veneers was a thin line of dark curly maple or a lightly stained curly maple.

Although now I can imagine that those are stacked veneers I never would have thoughts in my right mind that those could be veneers indeed. Never.

INDEED THEY ARE......IT'S TINY STACKED VENEERS SANDWICHED BETWEEN MAPLE AND BLACK OUTER BARS. ABOUT 50 PIECES OF VENEER PER INCH, AND ABOUT 40" OF TOTAL BARS INLAID INTO THE CUE, SO A TOTAL OF ABOUT 2000 PIECES OF VENEER IN THE BARS.

I JUST TRIED TO GET A BETTER PIC OF ALL THE TINY VENEERS, BUT MY PHOTO SKILLS AREN'T QUITE GOOD ENOUGH TO REALLY SEE IT. THIS IS THE BEST I COULD DO.

I have absolutely ZERO problem with your pictures and this last one shows the veneers just perfectly.

One question though: do you have any more pictures remaining of this cue?

Photos just can't show the colors pop the veneers.

I know it's a minor point in the grand scheme of things, but Pete has the coolest signature of all cuemakers. Beautiful cues, guys!

Well if the cue is not real big, those tusks sure are.

This cue is also one of my favorites.
Love the veneer combination in this one as one of my favorites.
The inlay work came out exceptional - really clean.

Thanks for posting and REP to you.

This might be my favorite cue of all time.

I read an article in Pool and Billiard in the mid 80's mentioning cue makers that were diamonds in the rough so to speak. they mentioned Pete at the top of the list. ever since then i've had a desire to see what they were talking about. i'd heard nothing but top notch discussion about Pete's cues since then and when i finally had the opportunity and wherewithal to inquire about Pete's cues i called him, we talked about cues, and he was gracious to send me some original pics of cues he was working on at the time which he said he would like back when i was done with them ( he has them now.....it only took around 8 years.....sorry for that Pete..:sorry:........ ) the pictures showcased a cue that blew me away! it featured his "veneered diamonds" and ever since then i was just hoping my time would come to have him create one with them in a layout i would chose.........through some fortunate circumstances for some and unfortunate for others i got my chance to make a "cue dream" of mine a reality......this cue to me says classic cue all the way and screams TASCARELLA!!! it is one i cherish for more than just having but one from which something transpired that was much more valuable.......a true friendship......thanks Pete...........

i think you're full of it!
bet there is probably not more than 1,987 pieces of veneer!!

no estimates . . . we need the exact number! :D

if i ever get that bored.... The whole world is in big big trouble.
nah!
only took me a couple minutes marking off and counting the one pic you had up of the butt in pshop . . . 79 peices.
i'm revising my estimate to approx 1200 pieces total
