Thank you to all that sent PM’s and e-mails asking where I was. For those that don’t know, I had another stroke and a sinus vessel bleed-out. I was in two hospitals from 12/30- 1/5 (They could not stop the bleeding at the first hospital=idiots). I spent two weeks in bed when I got home. Couldn’t walk or use my right hand (it was like a claw). Plus I had a Gout flare-up on both feet the last day in the hospital that lasted a week. I’ve been rehabbing myself with a walker, dumbbells, and squeezing a rubber ball since I got home. As of today I can use my hand like normal and walk slowly for a few hundred feet at a time. I’m still weak as hell from loss of blood and in bed so long, but am feeling very lucky to be walking again.

On a pool note, I put my new extended Ridgeback Rails on today (all six pockets are 4”) and find my stroke is still fine. I even ran 5 out of the 9 racks of 9-ball with BIH w/o warming up or hitting a ball in a month. The table plays great with the extended rails. The pockets will get tougher as the rail cloth wears a bit. If I had input into re designing the Valley Table I’d go with all 6 pockets 4” and the Ridgebacks. Johnnyt

JohnnyT I'm glad to hear your doing better , just keep up the good work and my thoughts and prayers are with you . It's also good to hear you back to playing a little bit of pool with all that's gone on . Good Luck my friend and best wishes . Rob :)

I don't know you JohnnyT.....but glad your feeling better. I'm also blown away at your toughness.....and old school grit. If I had a stroke and was recovering-I would probably be thrilled to operate my remote.....JohnnyT is running racks with 4" pockets.....best of luck to you!!!

Glad you are recovering quickly, JT. You are an exceptionally strong person in that regard. Wish you the best and hope you continue to get better and stronger.

I didnt know that happened, I hope your gonna be ok JT, please let me know if I can help. best Eric

Johnny;

I can't tell you how delighted I am to hear that the Ridgeback rails are working out for you.

Best,
Brian kc

P.S. Pretty happy, also, to hear that you are feeling better after such an ordeal.

P.P.S. I can't believe that you summed up your serious medical situation in just one brief paragraph then jumped right into pool related. You are one tough old-school sonofagun!

P.P.S. I did notice your absence but thought you were simply taking a short break.

I really can’t take all the credit for getting back on my feet. My lovely wife of 45 years has to get a lot of the credit. She is an old school no nonsense ER and Critical Care nurse. There was a few days that I just about gave up and just laid in the bed and thought “poor me”. She told me I was never a quitter and I wasn’t going to start now. She did little things like move things so I had to get out of bed, got me to stop using the walker and bedside commode. I was pissed at her then but realize now that she knew me, and how to handle me. Tough love I guess. LOL. Johnnyt
