the culprit that threw the pacifier at Earl Strickland

Thanks for the kind words Smoke. Once in a while I post on subjects like this but not often. As far as Daryl is concerned, he acted no better than Earl. Earl has acted out many times for whatever reasons he acts out. The reasons that he acts out are many, in recent years I have witnessed UP CLOSE people taunting him, sharking him just to get a rise out of him. Earl could use a lot of improvement with his behavior and I think he is trying to improve but I don't think the public at large is willing to let him make these changes. I'm not making excuses for him because I like him or know him. I have had brief conversations with him and have come to like his eccentricities. I like unique people, people who play their own drums and march to their own tune. Earl does that about as well as anyone I know. :) That being said, I despise sharking another person in a pool match and I despise it in Earl when he does it regardless of the reason.

I blame the tournament directors for a lot of these problems. Giving a break to each person who intentionally inflames a player while their executing simply because it is the person's first time is a joke IMHO. The promoters and directors need to get a handle on the crowds and the players. Send the S**T starters out the door immediately when it can be determined that they started the crap. It is pretty easily determined most of the time. Repeated warnings for bad behavior is not a solution. A penalty must be exacted and then the rules will be paid more attention.

As to Daryl Peach, most of what I said about me supporting him as a champion is hyperbole and nothing for anyone to really pay attention to. After all I am nobody and Daryl Peach is the World Pool Champion. All of us make mistakes. Daryl showed tremendous poise in winning that World Pool Championship this year with the partisan crowd scrutinizing his every shot and pulling so hard against him. Not many people in the world could have handled the pressure like Daryl did. Throwing a pacifier at Earl, IF DARYL did, is a child's response and has no place on the world's professional pool scene no matter who you are.

If you find fault in Earl's behavior (and I sometimes do), if you find fault in the spectator's taunting of Earl (I do), if you find fault in some player's decision to push Earl's buttons (I do), then you have to find Daryl's behavior unacceptable no matter what Earl did (I do).

All of that being said, from time to time, I have done far worse than either of them when pushed to my limit. :o

Great post...I tried to give you rep points, but it says I have to spread some around before I can give you more...

Why is it that everytime an Earl topic comes up, it brings out the best and the worst side of us?

... and I haven't seen any fence sitter here either...

I just noticed something strange in this picture. I think I figured out where the pacifier came from. ;)

Nice one, I tried giving Rep but they said spread e'm first! :D

While the outcome,IMHO, wasn't scripted it's VERY possible some of the antics were.

Kudos to the producers...

Lower Themselves.

I think the whole crowd, players and audience all lowered themselves from where they were when they entered the tourney room. JMO

The pool I was watching ... would have been MORE boring without Earl. I think more people are tuning in to see Earl's antics than his skills. Kinda like people that tune in to Nascar to see a good crash. Earl is good for ratings.

John, I agree with you completely. However, during matches like the Mosconi Cup, our team is representing our country, I mean they are even wearing American Flag shirts. This tournament has become a US against THEM, and that is not a bad thing!!! But, I personally do not want someone representing me to the World with His Childish Behavior, just my opinion.

I think Earl is good for Ratings, but, I also think with his actions, the Pro-tour could just buy a 20 ft by 20 ft crib and put a Play School Pool table in the center of it. They could then put square balls on the table, and three foot sticks, and then they could lock Earl in the Crib and televise Earls tantrums. :D They could do this at every Pro-event, for the ratings, and also this way Earl can get all the attention he craves. Then whenever another player wants to act childish, they could put them in there with Earl for a challenge match, hell I bet the IPT would even sponsor this action!!:p ;)

Have a good day!!!!

Id just like to say, your kinda bitter when it comes to Earl, I wonder, if he came into your shop and said, Mr, I want a cue, to play in next years Us open, you would turn him down, chop his ass and send him packin right?

As according to your statements about Earl, I hardly doubt any Professional on tour would ever want to be assotiatied with you or your cues, because WTF you gonna do if they say or do something you dont like? He did break a cue, that bothers you doesnt it? well hey so did Archer, you gonna chop his ass too? like your opinions about Earl I think as a cue maker your a poor role model.. So with all your intelect, all your really doing is hurting your business as a cue maker.. you do it just for fun right, you dont want to make any money, you have plenty right? Well, I dont know you, but Im not going to seek any cue you make, as bitter as you are there is no way you could make a decent cue. Oh yes the cue does reflect the maker.

OFCOURSE that is my opinion whitch like you I have a right to express..

First of all yes I would, it's called integrity, but obviously you have trouble with that word. I think you should look up the word in Websters Dictionary.

Ha!!! Ha!!!!!!! HA!!!!!!!!! Now that is funny:D :p ;)

First of all, I am a High School drop out with a GED, next I am not what I would call Cue Maker as yet(Maybe Some day). Yes currently I do it only for fun, I am a Retired Soldier from the US. Army, who happens to Own a Pool Hall, with a fully stocked retail store and a pro-shop. As far money, I have what I need without any support from the Welfare System!!!!;)

You are right, you do not know, understand, or even comprehend me, and who cares any way, I am not seeking your approval. As far as being Bitter, this is not the case and like you said you do not know me or anything about me. Last of all, I could careless what you buy, because that is your personal decision making process and as long as I or my family and friends are not effected by your actions I could careless.

Now, I do not follow the crowd, I don't agree with others for the politically correctness of any subject. However, I do speak my mind, and I would make the same statements that I make here directly to anyones face if the subject was approached in a personal conversation. I do not hide my identity, and I am very easy to find, stop by sometime if you are ever in my neighborhood, and you will find unlike others I will quickly stand-up for what I say and what I believe.

Have a great night and please spin on that!!!!!!!

Oh and by the way, PLEASE use the little abc Icon on your screen, there really is no excuse for poor spelling and appearing to be functionally Illiterate with the tools provided today!!!!!!;)

I assume you meant "integrity". Which version of Websters has it spelled "integrate"?

RIGHT Big John!! And I am just stunned that some people don't GET IT!

In the good old days, the guys wore jackets TO HIDE THEIR GUNS!!!

One LEGENDARY hustler told me personally that he carried a stick of DYNAMITE in his cue case...and empty shell with a live fuse and lit it off several times as a prank but ONCE to help him make his getaway when some Kentucky coal miners figured out he was slightly better and MUCH less drunk than they thought!

Yep, hey Damn, Patriots 14-0 wow! Dolphins win, Vikings won, and the Bears need a QB....lol maybe they pick up Vick once he gets out.....hehehehe

Now if you continue to respond you will only look more foolish than you already do. Stop while you head, opinions are just that opinions and we all are entitled to our own.

If you believe this, why did YOU jump on me for expressing mine:eek:

Oh and by the way, if you are Earl hiding behind this new personality, deal with what you have done and grow up, because you can still change your behavior, and peoples opinions.

I assure you I am not Earl. MANY AZ'ers have met me in person. Ask around, you can start with Jude.

yes, these analogies are way off base. Earl is not going to kill anyone or eat anybody. A better analogy would be John Mcenroe, brilliant on the playing field, a bit nuts, generally well like off the field. I don't condone Earl's actions when he is into his straight jacket persona and I don't think he should be picked again to represent the US, but I also don't condone what Peach did when he threw a pacifier from the stands. He should leave the soccer hooligan role to his fellow countrymen at a different venue and conduct himself with class like Johnny, Rodney, Corey, Shane, Ralf, Konstantin, and Niels did.

TAP TAP TAP. Except for the not picking Earl again part.

you know earl and i'm sure you know a different side of him.many have said the same thing.earls a good guy, earls this earls that.earl has friends and supporters.
but so did hitler, ted bundy, jefferey dahmer and john wayne gacey.some thought they were good guys but most thought their behavior unacceptable.

DUDE!!!! Get a GRIP!!!

Did you just compare Earl to Hitler:eek:

Hitler killed 6 million people...... Earl smashed a cue
Ted Bundy confessed to killing 29 people.....Earl stormed out of a finals once
Dahmer murdered, raped, and ate 17 men and boys....Earl screamed at the crowd
Gacy raped and killed 33 BOYS.....Earl refused to shake hands

Dude while I respect your right to your opinion...I don't think you REALLY meant this one.

PLEASE tell me I am right!
