Let's talk real here. Mikey has a reputation for lying. And who wants to say that they lost to a girl, anyway? During Mikey and I's match he was so nervous he could barely run 2 balls. I can tell you guys that the editing of the show isn't all in order. This was Mikey's first match. And he thought I was easy money. Producers were only filming 2 matches at a time. Mikey had not played pool on cam as of yet and our match was his first one. The guy could not run two balls in a row and I, already warmed up, playing Mike Dechaine and Emily Duddy, took advantage of that. He only won 1 game. When it was 2-1 he missed an important shot that they kept in the show, and I ran up to the carom and won the set. He told me also that he was so nervous because it was his first time that he needed to get used to it. And I quote another friend in this that he messaged after the match and said, "I'm not shooting good today."
During Emily's match. I was there too. Watching. Emily gave this guy opportunities and he decided for the "I'm gonna be last place so I can climb up" charade. This is where the whole #teamfreemoney began. We all saw he gave that up because he just didn't care anymore. He wasn't playing his best. He hadn't won against anyone in the round robin. What did he have to lose?
It is very difficult to shoot infront of these cameras just a couple of feet away from you. And I see how one can get nervous and get distracted by everything around them. This could be also a reason to not shoot your best.
But Mikey...Every story has three sides. Yours, mine, and the facts.
And Mikey and Smiley got a match coming up. We will see how much "giving up the match" happens in that episode. Stay tuned!
Atta boy, girl! You have a nice competitive spirit, but Mikey know the angles. Whatever happens do your best at the table and everything will take care of itself. To be genuine is a skill unto itself. gl
