The Most Powerful Stroke, Past & Present...???

For present day, I'm going to nominate Mike Dechaine. He has earned his nickname of "Fireball" for good reason, imo. :thumbup:

Not sure who from the past, I know Mr. Massey had a BIG stroke when he needed it but I'm guessing there were some bigger.

Let's hear your thoughts on it...

I would agree with your estimation that Mike has the "biggest" stroke but I would put SVB first only because I had the pleasure of watching both of them trying a sick stroke shot and SVB was drilling it and Mike could hang with Shane! Nothing against Mike's stroke, and if I didn't witness it first hand I would be with you on this. But I saw SVB let it loose!

Another BIG stroke is Mr. Deuel;)

I think what makes us all think "big" stroke is when we these guys hit these obnoxious shots from nowhere and we are just dazzled. But you won't see much from SVB because he's usually in line 99.99% of the time! Kinda boring to watch! I'd rather watch dechaine and Earl go at it because your gonna see "big" shots from both as opposed to SVB and Dennis O. Those 2 boring *****s ( I kid I kid) just make it look too easy!

and among those, Niels and Judd are at another level of accuracy and consistence

Mike Massey and Larry Nevel.

Corey Deuel can make some crazy stuff happen, too.

Yup...saw massey making a 3 cushion shot (it was an exhibition with sayginer i think)...his stroke was terrifying. I still can't beleive it sometimes....never thought anyone could hit the cue with that much power and control.
 
I also have to put Mike Massey at number one all time for the most powerful stroke. He could make shots that no one else could, then or now. Larry Nevel present day has the most powerful stroke I've seen. Among the old time players, Mizerak had a super powerful stroke (when needed which was rare) and Cornbread Red used to show off his high powered stroke in money games just to intimidate his opponents. Red loved to fire in a long straight in nine ball at warp speed. Talk about having confidence in your stroke. Not even Mizerak would attempt anything like that, and neither would anyone else.
 
Mike Massey has one hell of a stroke. Louie Roberts also did things I never thought about doing. There also was a fellow here in Tennessee called "Buttermilk" or Seth Brown his given name, that could make the cue ball talk.

Today John Hennessy as I have watched him do shots that Massey perfected.
 
Jamison Neu has a super stroke too when he's going....he did all his trick shot work without silicone

You're talking about the Massey video, right? Sorry, I don't see any slipping, just some movement in the flesh of the hand. In a slip stroke the hand slips back on the butt just before the forward stroke at the CB.
