the nit list

I like the way Mark Griffin mixes it up...he rolls up his sleeves and steps
into the fray....when he could very well have stayed in an ivory tower.

The CSI organization makes me feel the game has a chance.

NO DOUBT ABOUT IT!!!

My hat's off to Mark and his team for the way they come on here and defend themselves - which isn't very hard to do when your right. They roll with the punches and never back down.

I know I appreciate it.

Tap TAP TAP

I just want to say a very heart felt THANK YOU to csi,TAR,0B, and KAMUI for the stream-from the sidelines this looked like a fantastic event and was very fun to watch.

I agree PT. I have always liked reading Mark's posts. I feel like if there is one last vestige of hope, it lies within the CSI orginization.

What you are describing is a shark, not a nit although he may very well be a nit also.

Without a name it is hard to compile a list.

Let's give Lee a break since he's not from these parts, lol. When I was growing up in the pool world a NIT was someone who played real good but wouldn't bet nothin.A Shark would be something that a player does to you
while your shooting. What happened to Lee sounds like that should just be
called cheating or a cheater. All that ole crap is one of the main reasons I gave up on professional pool.I can say that it's gotten alot better but still has a long way to go.I too think Mark G.can and will clean this dirty sport up.Yep that player should have been outed the minute he did that.Good luck in the future there,Lee B.John B.

Non violent

Lee, next time when your opponent will try to do similar things, I give you a free advice: call for a rebreak/rematch to TD ....or you can break his head with butt sleeve. I'll borrow you one. It's you choice...I'll go for the first one...just for making fun of him...
I hate sharks, I love gamblers! They know the game, they respect their money source.

Not sure if it has been acknowledged, but LEe said he moved the ball and he was the one who also put it back. This does go against generally accepted practice- the other player has the option to replace or leave the ball, the mover has contributed all he is supposed to, by moving the ball erroneously.

Not that the guy didn't escalate the matter unreasonalbly, but is makes 2 to mango.

Your right,it is a foul if you move the ball back before asking your opp first.
I'm not sure that still applies with that new rack though. It might but it might not, imo.John B.

It was said in the thread ,with the new rack you are acting the position of the ref. when removing rack not as a player. Don't know if that is actually a rule or not, however it would make sense as they can't supply enough refs to remove the racks each time from each table on every break.

What happened to "canwin" he seems to have disappeared when asked to identify himself and have a normal conversation, GO FIGURE !

If they require the Magic Rack, they should, IMO, have enough referees to remove them to prevent this if it comes up that often.

The situation of balls on the magic ball rack does not happen often.

We cannot and don't need a referee on every table.

The players should be able to handle this - if there is a problem, then request a ref.

90% of this is all gamesmanship and BS.

Too many people playing too many games. This is a simple fix!!!

Mark very well said, simple fix, but too many people playing too many games, like you said gamesmanship and bs. It happened to me numerous times and i just said to my opponent put it where you think it was, John henderson had the same and he said put it where you think the ball was to his opponent.

Easily solved situation unless the guy is an ass like what happened to me, mountain out of a mole hill comes to mind.

Alot of players will do anything to get into there opponents head. Its all about the money and nothing about etiquette.Personally I think the magic rack is garbage.I've played in events were a ball landed on the magic rack 3 times in one set. When you have to start picking balls up with your hands
to remove the rack, its a flawed product that shouldn't be used in any major event. Its funny when the Sardo rack was around people said it made the rack to perfect, which to me was the reason for having it because with a plastic rack or wooden it would take awhile to achieve what the Sardo could do.So they take out the Sardo to have people breaking shittier racks cause people claimed it made the game to easy which makes no sense to me.

I've had every move in the book pulled against me. Now if this comes up, I point where I moved it from and give them the option. Only takes one time getting screwed to make this your normal practice.

I've also called a foul for a bad hit and was told 'you should have got a ref'

I to have seen it happen a lot with the magic rack.

If people are going to keep using the magic rack, then there needs to be a clear set of rules laid out for if this happens then this is the remedy.

It appears Lee that you were the victim of being treated poorly and it is uncalled for.

I know one solution. Just leave the Magic Rack on the table until the offending ball is made or pocketed. The rack being there won't effect the shot.
