Wow! Now, that's a first. I know Allen Hopkine's Pro Event and Mike Zuglan's $25,000-added Joss event at Turning Stone always fills up in advance, with a waiting list. It is great to have this happen at the Open this year.

Wasn't there someone trying to bet with Jay that there would be less than a certain number of players in the open? Cant remember the numbers exactly or the thread that it was in but I do remember reading it.

Wheres johnny t and the rest of the us open sucks crew?
Jay should take the entry bet money and burn it on the ppv

Pat is still taking names for a waiting list.
There's an excellent chance that several more spots will open up, as some of the first 15 names on the list (previous US Open winners who earned a free entry) will not be playing this year.

The players on the waiting list will pay their $1000 entry fees and that will increase the total payout.

Does anyone have the full field list? Preferably the last 3 spots? Just wondering if Justin hall made it in?

Why should it do that? The Prize Money was advertised as $187,000. With $75K in Pat's bank (we hope) and 112 players each paying $1000 creating $112k then the prize money is covered.

Any revenue from the other 16 (not 15) spots shouldbe used to help with the event's running cost and finally we get a business model

This is great news! It looked very bleak after last yr. Thank you Pat. And props to BB for wising up.
Staying at Sheraton and got VIP tix for my first one this yr!

According to Pat, the additional $1000 per entry (for players on the waiting list who will replace the non-show free entrants) WILL be added to the prize fund.

Efren is definitely not going to play. He and Busty are doing a beer commercial in the Philippines. Gabe Owen is most likely not going to play. I don't know about Varner or Schmidt.

Justin Hall is on the waiting list.
There will probably be about 20 players on the waiting list.
As they say, "you snooze, you lose".

I agree. This is the way *all* pool competitions should be. It allows the tournament promoter to plan better ahead of time. I like it when they fill up beforehand.

This is great news. The field is full and it's the most elite field imaginable.

The fans are really in for a treat.

Thanks to all who made it happen.

I am going the last 3 days and am really getting pumped!! The field is so good this year there will be world beaters who wont even make it in the money!!!

When I'm wrong I admit it. I never thought it would fill up. Congrats to Pat Flemming. I have a hunch it's Dennis O's year to take it down. Johnnyt

You'll be wrong there, too. He gives up too easily. There are too many Dennis-killers in this field.
