dunno if the user named "halhoule" is the real thing, but he seems to be spamming this 'efren reyes aiming system' stuff + a phone number to people. I just got it in private message, which I definitely don't appreciate.

If it's actually him, maybe he's just not aware of basic good manners online, and the mods can just have a word with him. But if it's not him, please ban kthxbai

Well, it might be the real Hal Houle. Not really sure how strong you play, but if I got an invitation to call Hal, I would probably take him up on it and call......oh wait.....I actually did call him.......got an aiming system over the phone.....helped my game immensely......never mind.

While Hal has a tough time communicating over the phone, he is a very interesting character and I LIKE HIS AIMING SYSTEM (at least the one he taught me). I believe that he prefers to show it in person at this point, but most will find that hard to arrange.

P.S. - At age 84 Hal seems unlikely to develop the internet addiction and skills of our general forum population. I'm just happy he is willing to share.

It is Hal and he can't be said to be spamming since he has nothing for sale. He has a strong urge to pass on some of what he knows and he has learned the hard way that it needs to be done in person. If I were anywhere near him I would seriously consider taking him up on his offer.

I did talk to him for hours one day. It was time very well spent.

I AGREE WITH EVERYTHING WILLIEBETMORE SAID ABOUT HAL HOULE. Hal is one of the nicest guys you will every meet providing you are a nice guy in return.

At 84, Hal doesn't haven't to put up with bad attitudes. Not saying Creedo has a bad attitude. But if you have one with Hal, he will not be pleasant. :D :D

Consider yourself blessed by the man who helped RandyG and the rest of his fellow instructors to help pool players all across the land.

I wouldn't look down my nose at that invitation. It's like looking a gift horse in the mouth, whatever that means. :p

Walnutport, Pa. A long ride from you or me but if you get anywhere in that neighborhood you may want to try to look him up if he wants to talk to you. I'll definitely contact him if I get a chance to travel. He is getting up in years and his health could fade at any time.

He lives aproximately 20 mins from me. Ive been waiting for his "call", but I also learned from others that if your game is NOT in top shape that you will not get a "lesson" from Hal.

No longer can the nay sayers weep, rail and wail against Hal Houle and his famed aiming systems. Their cries have been reduced to whimpers that reflect upon their own inadequacies. :p :p :p

Hal is a very nice, 84 year old gentleman that has enough knowledge to make your head spin. It's definitely not spam - it's a wonderful opportunity to learn from one of the best for the price of a phone call. Like Randy said - don't walk - RUN!
 
Hal called me one evening.. we talked for a couple hours. What a nice man. Didn't know he was 84. George Rood in Dayton is 90 & he is still giving lessons too.

It would be nice to gather up the knowledge of these great players, so it can be passed on for generations.

Well said, Willie.

Here's what I can say about Hal.... when you look up at the sky at night and see the moon, your whole life...you see the same moon. After one day with Hal, he shows you the dark side of the moon you never knew existed. There's a whole side of pool that's largely unwritten about that quite frankly, changed my life. I've been to his house three or four times. His knowledge runs so deep, it's hard to not giggle thinking about it.
 
I thought you could not have multiple log-ins on AZ. Hal's has been kildegirl, I think. It may be someone else posting his number, but I don't know why anybody would bother doing that.

:( You insinuate that he has multiple log-ins on AZ and that's not right. It could be his wife helping out with the Internet communications. She may have an account and post things on behalf of Hal. Or it could be someone who is a friend of Hal's making posts on his behalf. If they were truly obnoxious posts, obscene posts are other similar personna non grata posts, I could understand your suggestion...

Not necessarily true. However, if you're argumentative or try to tell him that it won't work, well, the converstion will most likely be abruptly terminated :)

Hal is a tremendous guy with a tremendous heart. Consider yourself lucky if you can pick up a few things from him. Funny thing, he tells me over and over about him and Ralph Greenleaf running around the country and never once have I been bored by any of it.

Did Efren teach Hal or the other way ? Or Efren uses Hal's system?

According to Hal, he taught Efren. Bet a LOT of people will disagree with that statement, but that's what Hal told me;)
